I had a good experience with them.

Dr Lindsay has done a lot to bring this
hospital around to accomodate patients
getting ready to have this surgery. I had
excelent care in the OR

New facilities, getting better access to more doctors and surgeons and new treatments. Nice rooms, decor, nurses, ect. Course no hospital is perfect...but this is a pretty good one I think.

Clean, friendly and responsive. Even though I work there, I am the first to honestly critique if i see a problem.

The hospital is a teaching hospital. I had student nurses taking care of me and they were wonderful! I hope they remain as caring and helpful as they were then. The other staff members were great too, I just had one person who irritated me. He is the one who makes you breathe in the little air tube thingy to keep you from getting pnuemonia(what ever it's called?. He just had a particular way he wanted it done. The other two shifts were great. They made sure you did your excersize but the didn't get aggrivated because you did it slowly or differently. He just seemed to always be hurried and you were making him late or something. I don't know, but other than that my stay was uneventful and restful. I would recommend this hospital for WLS

They have made a great start in making the hospital accomadating to large sized people. The gowns are large sized and actually wrapped around and over! I would really like to see them have armless chairs or wider chairs in their waiting rooms, ie radiology. Also the changing room in radiology was so small I could barely shut the door. The bathroom when you are waiting to go into surgery is also very small and difficult to maneuver in.

I wish we had hospitals as good as Johnson Memorial Hospital at home. The staff is what made this hospital one of the best. They were very knowledgable, helpful and kind. The nursing staff were there for any question or suggestions to help. I have never had such staff to my knowledge before.

Quite a large number of Nurses and staff at this hospital have HAD the bariatric surgery, so they are very aware of your needs and feelings. They were great.

This is the only hospital I have been in that was atune to the obesity patient. The nurses were excellent (some even had WLS themselves). No one looked down on you because you were so big. Every department was very helpful and kind.

If I had to do it all over again. I would pick this hospital. It might not be as big as some hospitals. However, the staff was great. They are sensative to the overweight person's needs. They had large gowns, and large wheelchairs on hand too.
