Huntsville Hospital Hospital
The pre-surgery training provided by Huntsville Hospital both regarding the surgery itself and my nutritional needs were exceptional. Combining this with the Surgical Weight Loss Support Group Meetings; I am pretty sure that other hospitals would do well to visit Huntsville Hospital so they could replicate this outstanding element of thier procedures.
The pre-check in process made the administrative side of the the stay painless. All the people that represented the hospital and helped me along the way, from the Admissions Manager, the Admissions Nurse to the nice little girl that wheeled me to our car were very kind, considerate and willing to answer any questions I had.
The room was spacious and nicely appointed. The Nurses were very personable, knokwledgable and attentive. The Techs were helpful and consistent in their performance. It would have been nice to have had a bigger TV, but I guess they needed to use the money on the bed that probably cost more than my Lincoln. I suppose that is where the money should go.
The surgical team and staff were fantastic. I could not of asked for better care. However most of the nurses on the floor were uncaring, lazy, and unresponsive to your needs. My oxygen level dropped to below 80 several times and my granddaughter had to get them. Had she not complained they would have never called the respiratory therpist. I also showed the nurse I was coughing up blood and ask her to tell the doctor and she never told him anything which resulted in my return to the ER room for a CT scan.
