The George Washington University Hospital Hospital
My surgery was preformed at George Washington University Hospital’s Bariatric Center of Excellence located in Washington, D.C. on March 19, 2013
This hospital and it staff made recovery for me the best. They are Angels on Earth and truly make you feel special, attended to, and cared for. I absolutely love love love them and this hospital. It was almost like a vacation with full staff ????
I highly recommend Dr. Afram and the Bariatric Center for Excellence at George Washington University Hospital.
The care I received from the moment I arrived until I was helped into the car when I was discharged was phenomenal. Each person who I interacted with was personable and extremely caring. The nursing staff was dynamic, exceeding my expectations. The students and residents were terrific; I have to give a special highlight GW Medical Student Katherine Hardy (Katie), who was the first doctor I saw when I arrived. Katie came to see me at least twice a day and is extraordinary. When she finishes her studies in 2 years she will be a wonderful doctor. Thanks Katie!
My surgeon is terrific she takes time to get to know her patients and uses the resources available at the hospital to meet all her patient's needs.
I would highly recommend GW to anyone in the Washington, DC area who is considering WLS surgery.
Everything was great, the only complaint was when it was time for me to leave the porter who transported me to my car in the wheel chair thought she driving a sports car. She went down this ramp, like she was on some dog sled, she thought it was funny. I was freighten, especially since I had just had surgery two days before. Obviously she was imature, I did tell the charge nurse about her behavior and she said she would talk to her. Other than that horrible scarry experience leaving the hopital, everything was excellent.
