Never had to stay overnight at a hospital so I was nervous about that not the surgery. I was taken back to be prepped for soon after I arrived, that helped me not to sit and get more nervous. My family was able to see me again before I went into surgery. During my surgery my surgeon found a hernia and was able to fix that also. I had a nice private room that my husband or mother could stay the night if I wanted them to. There was no set visiting hours so they were able to come and go. I was able to self medicate myself so I rarely in any pain. Nurses came to help me when called within less than a minute. I felt save at this hospital and it was nice quite and clean.

First of all I would like to say that the hospital is beautiful, rooms very nice, surgical staff, very good. With that said, when I got to my room after surgery, the TV didn't work for about 5 hours and the phone by my bed NEVER worked at all. I asked to have it fixed and one nurse brought some remote controls in but couldn't get it to work and proceeded to say that it wasn't her job. I agree, it's not her job but she could have got a maintenance worker to come in but one never did until 5 hours later. They also had someone try and fix the phone but NEVER had anyone actually come in and check the line. If someone called me I always had to get up out of bed, which was not easy right after surgery, and go answer a phone that was in the corner. I think all of these things should be checked BEFORE a patient is occupying the room. I spent all this money for things that didn't work while I was there. As far as I'm concerned, there is no excuse for that. Then one nurse tried to give me a shot of something I only needed every 8 hour. Luckily I always asked them before they gave me the shots, what they were so when this nurse wanted to give me this shot I told them that he better look it up because I think I already had that shot a couple of hours ago. They told me that the pharmacy said I should have it and I told them that they better check it out and sure enough. I had the shot at 5pm and shouldn't have had it again until 1 am since it was every 8 hours. I don't know what kind of damage, if any, it could have caused. A few of the nursed need to brush up on giving shots also. A couple of them just jabbed the needle in and it hurt a lot. Most of them would pinch the skin and then give the shot, the way it's suppose to be done. I know this hospital is a 5 star hospital but I'm not so sure that I would go back for another surgery there and probably after this review (if it's even posted) they wouldn't even want me back. Again, it's a beautiful hospital, loved my DR and surgical staff but they need to have their maintenance guys do better jobs of checking rooms to make sure things work. I know they have a lot to do with just trying to keep the hospital equipment running but the patients should feel like they matter also, get what they pay for. I just want what I was paying for.

This hospital was great . The rooms were clean. The staff were ALL great. After surgery I had a room all to myself and they allowed my husband to stay there with me. The staff were all very professional and caring. The only negative was that I didn't feel like I got much rest. With all the checks and test and machine alarms ect. But I think that is true for any hospital. It was definitely a better experience than my husband had at a different hospital. Would recommend this hospital :)

The Fresno Heart and Surgical Hospital is one of the BEST hospital I've ever been in, staying as a pt was EXCELLENT experience. The staff was caring and informative, I asked questions and they answered all my questions. I would say it was a 10! All the rooms are private, I felt like I was in a 5 star hotel.

The Fresno Heart and Surgical Hospital was the most amazing hospital. Everyone was friendly and helpful and explained everything to me patiently as they got me ready for surgery. The room was private, clean, and extremely relaxing. They would even have made accomodation for a friend or family member to spend the night with me had I asked. The real stars, however, were the nursing staff. The few times I used the call button, they responded within seconds. They were knowledgable and encouraging. One nurse even stayed an hour after her shift was over to help with patients so the shift coming on duty had the chance to get their discharge paperwork done to release patients who were eager to go home. From the cleaning staff to the kitchen staff to the nursing staff, this was just a great group of very caring people making a difficult procedure a lot easier on me and my loved ones.

This hospital was absolutely wonderful! The staff was awesome, the care was phenomenal and i even received a card from them a few days post op signed by all the nurses and PCA's that cared for me:) Makes times like this a hell of a lot easier when you have great nurses:) Thank you Fresno Heart and Surgical Hospital!

I attended my first weight loss seminar at Fresno Heart & Surgical Hospital. The hospital is very nice and has large chairs or benches to accommodate obese patients. Additionally, the staff was very nice, professional, and pleasant. My next visit was my pre op visit. I was able to see more of the hospital and I was very impressed. Private rooms, pleasant staff, and upscale decor. I look forward to my surgery to see more of the hospital and interaction with staff.
