Faulkner Hospital Hospital
The ICU staff was awesome! As for the nurses aides on the floors....that is another story, they did relay messages to the nurses, so I would ring for pain meds wait 30 or so minutes ring again and the nurses would say they never got the message. It was totally ridiculous. I had to call patient relations on 3 occasions, I hope I never have to go there again because their service was horrible.
My opinion the nurses were great and always there when i needed them but the aides are nothing to be desired..They dont come for good 10-15 min after you pull the buzzer, and then when they come they make you feel like you are bothering them..They are very lazy and the hospital needs to fire them all and get new help..The nureses and aides need to be much quiter at night, they do not have no respect for your peacefulness or the fact that you need rest to recover...And the dietary staff was unreal, they kept gettin my meals wrong so I got them hours past due, very unorganized, when I tell them it was wrong they would argue with me over it when I know what I can and cant have..All in all some changes need to be made if they want paitents to keep goin there..Im glad I wont have to again...
My stay at the hospital was not a usual stay, and I was somewhat grouchy after surgery. There were a couple of complications with my surgery and it took much longer than usual. My biggest problem, is that it is a teaching school, so I did deal with a few interns while I was there. I got some conflicting answers to questions. This was just a case of the inexperienced people being more cautious due to the surgical complications. Even though I was frustrated, I was never worried about getting bad treatment, just that things weren't happening fast enough for me. to top everything off, a blizzard struck the day I was supposed to go home, so they decided to keep me an extra night.
Wonderful nurses & drs! Most aides were great, some could have been taught a lesson or 2 about bedside manner. Very noisy hospital. Staff should be more aware of their unnecessary noise level. My food tray was NEVER correct from dietary, and it only contained 3 items. But overall, I did feel safe there, which is of utmost importance. These nurses & drs were the top of their class!
