Dr. Hoekstra automatically assigns private rooms to all WLS patients. This was very helpful to me because it allowed me to be on my own walking schedule without bothering anyone. All the nurses were very kind and comforting - especially Myrna on PSCU3. I had a wonderful stay, but was glad to leave the hospital!

This surgery is pretty painful, I think they did a great job considering what a big ole baby I am.

I was born there 31 years ago and there have been times over the years I wouldn't have given you two bits for their staff. Within the last decade or so they have been making significant upgrades technologically and in customer service and I had a very good experience from start to finish.

No problems, I had excellent care and no real pain, the bed was comfortable. I was relieved that it was actually a very good experiance.

I was on the post surgery unit. The nurses were really great and very caring. They were excellent in giving me care and making sure my pain was under control. I did not like being woken up 6-8 times a night, but I'm sure that's just the way it is. My only other complaint is that when I pressed the call light, it often took more than 6-7 minutes to get a response. Otherwise, it was a quiet, friendly place to be.
