Dallas Regional Medical Center Galloway Campus Hospital
The majority of the nurses were nice but not very knowledgable. One nurse messed up my paperwork preventing me from getting the medicine that I needed. If you get a nurse by the name of Felicia ask for a new one. She was rude and if you do not have large veins will have to stick you several times. She checked on me maybe two times during her shift.
I was impressed with the care from the nursing staff and especially since they had gone through a Bariatric sensitivity training course. I had been there before and the difference was wonderful! They were very attentive regarding my specific surgery and the needs I had. They were very helpful in making sure I had everything I needed. They made me walk, (per my doctor's instructions) which was difficult at first, but got better. The dietician was helpful in telling me about what i will be able to eat, and suggested things to make my tranistion into my new lifestyle easier. A nurse came around and asked me how my stay was, (she didn't work on my floor). That made me think they really care how i am doing. They also offered a support group meeting every month.
I felt like the day staff of nurses, etc. was very good. Especially April a day nurse I had..she is great. Also, Blake..he is very kind and attentive. Most of the night staff is very slow and not as friendly, except for a few. One nurse I had named JoAnn is a very caring person. I heard bad things about a nurse named Benjamin (last name) so I told all that I didn't want her to be assigned to me ever.
