Dr POP was FABULOUS!!! The staff was great adn they made you feel right at home. He is all business, knows his stuff inside and out and makes sure that you understand everything and that there are no more questions before he leaves. EXCELLENT surgeon!!!!
From very first time I met with Dr. DiNick I knew that he was the surgeon for me...the post op pictures were amazing. After losing 200 lbs. I was ready Dr. DiNick did a tummy tuck and my arms loving the results. The whole experience was wonderful.
Wow! I am so proud to write this testimonial on behalf of an absolutely amazing surgeon! I underwent RNY gastric bypass surgery on July 16, 2009 and Dr. Steven Poplawski was my surgeon. I can't begin to describe how amazing he was from start to finish! From the second I first met him I felt completely at ease and comfortable with him. I was just in his office for my 1 year anniversary visit and I was so proud to just look at him, smile and say..."You are my hero!"
And I truly mean that! I've never met someone as truly genuine and compassionate as this surgeon. He sincerely cares about each and every patient that he sees....and he is truly changing lives...one patient at a time. I chose Dr. Poplawski on referral from a friend of mine, and every day I feel thankful to her for recommending him to me. I honestly can't say enough great things about him, his incredibly caring staff, his warm demeanor and disposition.....there aren't enough words. From start until now on this amazing journey it has been flawless for me, and that is in large part because of the quality of care I've received from Dr. Poplawski and his wonderful team. I recommend him 100% to anyone thinking about this life changing procedure...and I wake up each morning ever so thankful that I was not only given the gift of my life back after my surgery, but that I was in such great hands from the start! In my first year I've lost 162 lbs and I wake up each morning as giddy as a child on Christmas Day! Dr. Poplawski gave me my life back and now I'm out living a life instead of hiding from it! I will be forever thankful to him and what he has done for me....and can't stress enough how strongly I recommend him to anyone considering this surgery!

My husband and I are planning to have his/her RNYs as soon as we complete all of the preparation steps. We attended an initial consultation on March 19th with Dr. Taylor at Barix in Ypsilanti. We immediately felt very comfortable and safe with Dr. Taylor and with the staff there. He demonstrated excellent teaching skills and we came away knowing just what to expect. We can't wait to take the next steps.
An update after surgery: Dr. Taylor was very kind and skillful. I'd recommend him to anyone.
I work for Barix Clinics in Ypsilanti, Michigan, so I went for the surgeon I know the best, and trust the most :)

It is 7/2/10 and I am a little over 2 weeks out of Gastric Bypass Revision surgery. Everything went great! I am doing really well and I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Poplawski and Barix Clinics in general. Would like anyone to know who is thinking about a complete revision of a previous Gastric Bypass surgery, Dr. Poplawski is the Doc! He is very down to earth, confident and is a master with the scalpel. Would be happy to answer questions if needed.
Prior Info:
It has been a long journey to find Dr. Poplawski. My previous RNY surgery was a failure due to the my pouch not being made small enough. Most doctors don't want other doctor's "problems". However, while doing online and offline research all roads led to Dr "Pop". I am excited and nervous all at the same time since he will essentially have to undue and redo the prior surgery. I am positive it will work out this time. Plus I have learned a great deal during this process and am looking forward to renewing this journey. My surgery date is 6/16/10!! My pre-surgery visits have gone very well and everyone at Barix in Ypsi have been wonderful. I will let you know how the after care is, but I am sure it will be great, too.
The only negative I can say is that I would prefer he read his notes on a patient prior to seeing them. But so long as he knows who and what needs to be done when I have surgery I can let that pass.
