Dr. Rachel Cimaomo, Bariatric Surgeons Rachel Cimaomo, MD is a board-certified general surgeon specializing in bariatric surgery. In 2014, she joined the Southcoast Health Weight Loss Center located in Wareham and Fall River, Massachusetts. Dr. Cimaomo is a proud member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), the Massachusetts Medical Society, Association of Women in Medicine, and the American College of Surgeons (ACS). Graduating with honors, she earned her medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. She then went on to Springfield, Massachusetts where she completed her residency at Baystate Medical Center (BMC) of Tufts University School of Medicine. While there, she was a clinical associate for four years, awarded the 2012 Trauma Resident of the Year, and served as a clinical instructor in the Department of Surgery. Prior to joining the Southcoast team, she completed a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. She performs Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy (VSG), the Roux-en-Y (RNY) Gastric Bypass, and bariatric revision options. In addition to Bariatric Surgery, Dr. Cimaomo is interested in the management of health information and the study of medical records to improve the delivery of medicine.
