OMG! Dr.LEE! This guy is more than a a God send! He is absolutely amazing and words can not express how grateful I am that he has changed my life for the better. I honestly feel that he is simply the best bariatric surgeon and needs his own TV show ASAP. Within the first five minutes of meeting and talking with him, I knew that I was going to be in good hands. He gave me straight forward and clear answers; even when I asked super dumb questions he still answered them with a smile. The day of surgery he reassured me that everything was going to be fine and go smoothly and it did! Even though he is no longer in the DFW area I would still recommend him to anyone who is considering WLS because he is worth the drive. He will always be my number one doctor (yes, even over the doctor who delivered me lol) Thanks Dr. Lee, you're too awesome (sorry for rambling, words just can't express my happiness)

Outstanding doctor. My sister Anna and I got a phone call last week from Dr. Lee. It's been over a year since we both had surgery with Dr. Lee. I've lost about 100 pounds and so has Anna. We both had the lap band placed before but didn't lose much weight and it was giving me bad indigestion and heartburn. Dr. Lee recommended the band come out and a revision to a bypass. Best decision of our lives. The reflux went away immediately and I finally began losing the weight. It wasn't hard but it wasn't easy. All I did was listen to the doc. Dr. Lee was there every step of the way. Before and after surgery. He's not like some of the other surgeons who don't care and never sees the patient even on the day of surgery. He made it clear that although he had a lot of help from the office that he was in charge and would take care of me and be there for me. Because he spent so much time with me before surgery, I felt like he really understood my weight problems and he really respected my feelings. Most importantly I felt like he went out of his way for me and he made time. I'd like to believe he only did that for me but I'm 100% certain that he treats all patients that way. That's what makes Dr. Lee so special!

Simply the best at what he does!!! I agree with all the previous reviewers but I think Jimmy Jackson accidentally gave him 3 stars but Dr. Lee is an all star at everything!!!

What sets Dr. Lee apart is that he is a craftsman and he takes pride in all aspects of patient care, not just the operation. He's well respected in the medical community and is a doctor's doctor. He's had this reputation at UT Southwestern to operate on all the employees because they trust him so well. I was deeply saddened when he told me that he would be moving to Austin to be closer to his family. This makes sense because he's a great surgeon and doctor and Austin will be lucky to have a great surgeon and community leader.

I had surgery over a year ago and lost over 100 lbs after a revision to a bypass. I am 35 years old and was doomed to be a diabetic like my mom. Dr. Lee's been supportive to make sure I didn't make the mistakes my parents had made in waiting too long to change their lives. I've had no problems and Dr. Lee has been there every step of the way. I highly recommend him above all others. Meet him once and you'll understand.

Dr. Lee performed gastric sleeve surgery on me November7th 2014 My weight before surgery was 366pounds. Before I worked out one hour per day 3-4 four times weekly. I was always on some type weight loss program, but the weight continued to be a problem my health begin to deteriorate my primary doctor started me on high blood pressure and cholesterol medicine and I was also facing heart surgery. After my gastric sleeve surgery my health started to improve I am no longer on high blood pressure and cholesterol medicine and I lost over 130 pounds in 12 months.This is all due to me following Dr. Lee 's eating instructions that goes along with the surgery I eat about3/4up at each meal drink no water before meals and wait 30 min. to drink water after meals. Meals consist of vegetables, fruit and fish with a regiment of multivitamins make sure you get the required amount of proteins everyday continue to exercise and walk as much as possible . Thanks to God for putting his wisdom into Dr. Lee to perform the surgery. This surgery has really change my life for the better, I am really enjoying the new me Thanks Dr. Lee.

Dr. Lee is an amazing physician. He is very upfront with the information in regards to bariatric surgeries and consistantly stands behind/beside his patients. He and his staff are there to comfort you and to guide you towards your goal of a healthy lifestyle. I absolultely love the support I have received from Dr. Lee and his staff. My surgery was a revision and I really wish I that I had Dr. Lee as my first surgeron and I might not have had to have a revision. Regardless, I am glad that I met Dr. Lee and look forward to continuing on my path of success with weight loss.

When my primary physician brought up the subject of bariatric surgery, I was not happy nor was I pleased. After much discussion (1 year), I came to the realization that this is/was a necessity. The best thing that ever happened to me was being referred to Dr. Lee and his clinic. Words cannot express the respect that I have for this man and his team... they truly care about what they are doing and making this process make sense to the patient. This is not a cure, it's a tool and they make sure that you are aware of that. In my case, there were no surprises. I was fully prepared for the procedure and the aftercare. Dr. Lee is one of the most confident and capable physicians that I have ever worked with and isn't that what you want? There were no questions that went unanswered. There was a sense of calm with him that made me ready to tackle this new chapter of my life. His staff has been exceptional. They are with me every step of the way. Again, whenever I have a question, it's answered. Whenever I have a concern, there is someone to discuss it with. Every month, there are still lessons that I learn about my current and future health from this office. I couldn't be more pleased. At this time, I am 10 months post surgery and have begun truly living again! I am determined to make good choices and remain active but with Dr. Lee and his team behind me, I have no doubt that I will be just fine. Thank you is not big enough to express how grateful I am that they came into my life. And now, that life has quality that makes me WANT to keep living!

I was on medication for hypertension and my Primary Care Dr. wanted to start a regimen of diabetic medication due to my Hemoglobin A1c reading of 7 (high) blood testing . With my family history of obesity, diabetes and heart problems, I wanted to be pro-active in prevention. I attended an in-service offered by Dr. Lee. It was very thorough, explaining all of the options offered for weight reduction and how each option worked in the body.
Dr. Lee and his staff are wonderful. I was impressed with the detailed dietary instructional counseling sessions prior to my surgery (Gastric Sleeve). It prepared me for the post surgery period and gave me the tools needed to be successful. I consider my surgery a success. I am off of hypertensive medications and my blood sugar was under control very quickly. This prevented me from starting oral Diabetic medications. Bottom line...Dr. Lee, his staff and the surgery saved my life. In 10 months I have lost almost 60 pounds and will continue to lose more staying with my diet and exercise regimen. THANK YOU DR. LEE FOR SAVING MY LIFE IN A HEALTHY WAY.

Dr. Michael Lee and has staff started my new life journey. I had a vertical gastric sleeve on February 28, 2012 at St. Paul Hospital in Dallas, TX. I would do it all over again. Now it hasn't been an easy journey but it definitely has been well worth it. Dr. Lee has called and emailed me several times after all my visits with his group. From the PA, dietician, PhD, and nurses I was prepared. You have to have a good mindset and realize that Dr. Lee and his group are there to help and they really do but you have to want this for the long haul. It is easy at first as your stomach won't handle much but you can force it to grow and eat more.

I absouletly would use Dr. Lee again to perform the surgery. His bedside manner and the time he will take to discuss things with you help to make my mind up and I haven't regretted using him.

I just celebrated two years post surgery (Dec 2012). Still today, the best decision I have ever made for ME! Dr. Michael Lee certainly did an outstanding job throughout the entire process. His staff helps you through the process and were always available for guidance along the way. I feel better than I have in years and have completely been removed from all medications from prior to surgery. Thank you Dr. Lee and everyone else at UT Southwestern who made this a fantastic experience for me and gave me my life back!

Dr. Michael Lee of UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas did an outstanding job. Surgery and the postoperative period all went extremely well, much better than I expected. Dr. Lee painted a realistic picture of outcomes expectations, and emphasized that surgery was only a tool. The rest was up to me to commit to eat healthy food and exercise. The hospital staff were all extremely efficient and caring. Since surgery I've lost over 60 pounds. I have so much more energy and no longer have to take insulin. Would do this again in a heart beat!
