Dr Hussein Faour, is a consultant General, Laparoscopic & Bariatric Surgeon at Royale Hayat Hospital in Jabriya, in Kuwait. Dr Faour attended medical school at the Lebanese University in Beirut, Lebanon. He also pursued his residency in general surgery in Lebanon and the University Louis Pasteur, in Strasbourg France. He then completed a fellowship in laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery at Louis Pasteur University in Strasbourg, and the European Institute of Tele Surgery (EITS) and the Research Institute against Digestive Cancer (IRCAD) with many advanced courses in laparoscopic Surgery.
Dr Faour is a member of many international surgical organizations dedicated to continuing education in the medical field and providing excellent surgical advancements to benefit his patients.
Dr. Faour's clinical interests include surgery for severe obesity, minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopic) and gastrointestinal surgery. He has performed hundreds of operations for morbid obesity and advanced laparoscopic surgery. His research interests include the physiologic effects of laparoscopic surgery on postoperative injury and recovery, and outcomes of laparoscopic management of obesity, gastrointestinal diseases and hernias.

He has been an invited speaker for many regional, national and international lectures on the subject of obesity surgery and laparoscopic surgery. He is Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS), Fellow of the American society for metabolic and bariatric surgery (FASMBS), member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES). He is also a member of International Federation of Surgery for Obesity (IFSO); He has been participant of more than 50 courses, workshops and meeting on advanced laparoscopic surgery.
