Zaria Murrell Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

Very informative, explained everything in great detail. Wonderful to deal with. Very prompt got me in to surgery one day after seeing her after my approval letter. (of course she said that I am the first one she had been able to do that with). She informed me that she doesn't believe in the 23hr thing. That she requires her patients to stay in hospital at least three days. I went straight from her office on Monday for my pre op and was told to be at hospital at 7:30 Wen. morning. Great bedside. She ckd in with me more then one time and she made sure that I was not in pain. She requires that I come to her office every two weeks for a while. Informes me on what to eat and not to eat. All in all I think I picked a wonderful doc!!!!!

My first impression of Dr. Murrell was that she was going to change my life forever! She was very professional and at the same time very friendly. My impression of Dr. Murrell has changed but it has changed for the better! She is my angel here on earth.
Dr. Murrell's staff is very friendly, I love the nurses. One in particular, I believe her name is Lyn.. Is so increadibly sweet.
There isn't anything I don't like about Dr. Murrell or her staff, However when you have an appointment expect your waiting time to take a while, You may even be able to take a nap while waiting! I know I have!
Future patients will need to know that she and her staff are dedicated to their patients. Dr. Murrell and her partner Dr. Cason are on call 24/7! I have heard many people in Huntsville going to Birmingham or elsewhere to find surgeons and have their surgery done, but it can and is done here in Huntsville by what I would say are some of the best in the business!
I believe that surgical competence and bedside manner are both very important.
I believe that Dr. Murrell is top notch and have recommened her and her partner Dr. Cason to several friends and family.
A friend of mine from church has just this past week gone in for his first appointment.
He will be seeing her partner Dr. Cason.
My mother came to their group consultation on 2/3/04. She was impressed by both Dr.s
Over all my experience has been wonderful.
Prior to surgery my health was in no danger. I didn't have any life threatening problems before or after surgery. I believe that was because I was relitivly healthy.
This is my own personal experience I would hope and pray that you have the same type of experience.

Outstanding is the only comment I can use about Dr. Murrell, her overall practice and the care she has given to me. She gives only her best to her patients.

The first time I met with Dr. Murrell, she was very professional and extremely nice. She was not at all judgemental about me being overweight, just wanted to help me fix the problem. The only issues I had and still have with her is with vitamins and supplements. I feel we could use more aftercare instructions but I also talk to other people about their use of vitamins and kind of use a mix of both Dr. Murrells and everyone else's Dr.'s ideas. She tells you straight up everything you need to know about the risks and benefits of the surgery so you go into it with your eyes wide open. I know some people have had issues with her office staff, but they were all wonderful to me, very very nice. Even when I called during a breakdown about the 3rd week, and was hysterical!!!!!LOL. Dr. Murrell did such a good job on my surgery that I didnt even have any throwing up at all, (well I threw up once last week, and im 10 months post op) and that was the first time ever. I would recommend her to everyone in the area. She is a great person and surgeon.

Dr. Murrell is a very plesant and professional individual.

She was very attentive to me each time I saw her. She didn't hesitate to answer any questions that I had for her, and trust me, the first time I went in I had quite the list.

Her staff was very friendly and helpful throughout the entire process.

I would tell people to feel comfortable asking her any questions that they have for her. She will not sugar coat anything, she tells you like it is and that is what I like about her.

She is very adiment about aftercare. They are very concerened with the entire porcess, but they stress the importance of aftercare from day one. They have a structured program that you follow immediately following surgery. They also have a support group that meets monthly.

Again, she didn't sugar coat anything. She was upfront about all the complications that could occur during and after the procedure. I went into this procedure with my eyes wide open.

I would have to give her an excellent rating based on my experience with her.

Both are great.

Dr. murrell is a very caring Dr.. She listen to everything I had to say along with the my tears. I have been very pleased with her and one of her nurses (YuttA). I finally got my approval from BCBS when I called the Doctors office the lady at the desk was really excited with me. I have a appointment to see here in a week. She told me to thinking of a date for surgery. There is one nurse at her office that's not very helpful or supportive. That may just be her personality .
My surgery is sceduled for 3/12/03. Everything is going wonderful. Office personal have just been wonderful!!!!!!

I would like to say that all of Dr. Murrell's office staff have been very supportive thru all my silly questions, and concerns. They always take the time to talk to me when I call. I would also like to make a comment about my previous remarks about his nurses. I know from my on experiences as being a nurse that some times our first impression about people are not always the maybe the most accurate, I have to say that both his nurses have help to make this experience a very good one for me. I would like to say I'm sorry that I put the first impression on the web sight.

The program that the office has is wonderful. I hope that if you live in this area and are looking for a Doctor you would call their office the support you will receive will make the experience a good one. I have lost about 87 pounds, in 6 months, and feel wonderful.

I think that Dr. Cason & Dr. Murrell (his newest associate who will actually be doing my surgery) are both wonderful. Their staff are very helpful, curtious & understanding. Dr Murrell was upfront & honest with me about the surgery, pre-op & post-op. She has answered my questions I had outside the office very promptly & knowledgeable. i have yet to find anything that I was less than pleased with, other than the initial appointment taking 3 hours, and me actually only seeing the dr's about 30 minutes total.
