Dr Rupp inspires confidence in him and his abilities.
The office staff is helpful and pleasant. His nurse, JOYCE, runs the Lifeshapes program, and takes care of everything. She sets up the information meetings, and runs the aftercare group that is free.
,.Aftercare is a big deal with Dr Rupp and Joyce. They have published a very helpful booklt with allthe things YOU need to do, what THEY do, what to eat when, what to eat that has protein, fat, or whetever ele yu need, as well as talks about the risks. HE talks about the risks at the info meeting where he shows slides an talks about all the pertinent statistics. Very informative. You will leave feeling well informed., Goes over the particulars for yu at yur pre-op visit, about 4-5 dys before surgery.
Has not lost a patient yet. Only does open surgeries...'I like to look around.' Will do hernias, hiatal hernia, gall bladder and appys. Will call in a GYN for tubal ligations, hystrectomies, or anythng ese that needs to be done. Does a thorough visual check for cancer. Feels he needs room to work. Surgical competence nd bedside mannr were both great. Visits veryday in the hospital. When he comes to aftercare meetings, the whole room...maybe 75-00 people stand to applaud when he comes in the door. People who saw h8im on tv during my tv news shot about this surgry hve caled from all over the country baecause they heard from someone here about him, or the segment was taped and sent to them. They tell the office staff they liked him and what they saw, and want to come here for surgery.

My first impression of Dr. Rupp was when my best friend had the surgery done in January of 2001. He was so kind and caring. He came out right after the surgery and explained how it went. I was facing doing the surgery myself at that time, and made it up in my mind that this would be the only man that would touch my body in relationship to this surgery. HE WAS THE MAN!! He will take the time to explain what is going to happen and address any concerns. He truly cares about his patients and will go to any lengths to help them. His office has a support group that meets once a month to address related issues. He performed my surgery on October 1st, 2001. He has been a wonderful doctor to deal with throughout this whole process. I recommend him highly. He has BOTH surgical competence and wonderful bedside manner. If I had to give one drawback to Dr. Rupp is that he is extremely busy, but that is the nature of the business and shows that he does his job well. Other than that, God bless Dr. Rupp!!

Very straight forward and honest. Has okay bedside manner, jokes with you and I like that. His program is great, has comprehensive care. Involves his nurse, a psychologist and himself, wonderful aftercare, but the individual needs to be aware of themselves. Meaning, YOU need to get in touch with them if you think a problem arises. Explains risks of surgery and after care well. Two different support groups plus optional therapy for individuals. Really have no complaints about this surgeon. Does have a heavy caseload, and may have to wait for surgery.

My first impression of Dr. Rupp was at the informational meeting over a year ago -- at that time I had gotten the impression that he is very good at what he does. After having a chance to talk with him today I still feel the same way -- we discussed the different surgery types and which one would benefit me most -- he is very informative, and easy to talk to. He has a very good sense of humor and yet you leave feeling very comfortable putting such a serious event in his hands. He has sa strong emphasis on aftercare and a wonderful and supportive staff -- I would highly recommend him -- will post more after surgery.

Dr Rupp was very personable, friendly and open to any questions. Did not mind sharing all knowledge that he could with me. His office staff were also very nice. There wasn't anything about him or his staff that I didn't care for. He's very concerned about the aftercare, wanted to see me every month, but I moved way out of the area shortly after surgery. He did have structured aftercare at the time I was seeing him. As far as the surgery, he held information seminars, then one on one appointments with patients. He never glossed over the risks. I would choose Dr Rupp for the surgery again in a heart beat, he was wonderful all around.
