called dr leung office today to book a fill
no answer
went to college of phys and surgeons they list an address and phone number
called the number and it is his home number. spoke to his pleasant wife and she said he was semi retired, did not have an office, does some assist surgeries at SMH
he is not doing any f/up with lapbands etc now.
she could not refer me to anyone
I suggested she speak to him and get someones name from him that could be given to people who are now stranded and waiting for help with the wl issues that arise post surgery

My after care from Dr Leung has been a nightmare. I have to have my fills by fluoroscope because he can't get it to work in his office, like there's a blockage or something. Last time I had a fill (March 2011)he forgot to unfill me first and overfilled me. I tried to tell him but he wouldn't listen, he told me that it will be fine. It was very painful and I couldn't stop vomiting, I even wet myself I was vomiting so hard. I had to call an ambulance part way home to take me back for an unfilll. Then he tried to charge me for it!! I haven't been back since. I"m now trying to find someone to fix it for me.

I really enjoyed my initial visit, the ladies are great and Dr. Leung has a great sense of humour. He's very thorough and doesn't mince words.

I saw Dr. Leung for the first time in the Summer of 2004. I went very well prepared, and had done lots of research on Lap Band surgery.
To be honest, Dr. Leung is slightly abrasive. Like many surgeons, his "bed-side" manner is not very warm and fuzzy. I was very impressed with his concern for my health and well-being, however. I've also learned from lots of other people (not WLS patients), that he is a very respected doctor in the Lower Mainland. At the first consult he lectured me about what it would be like to have a LAP Band, and warned me about the risks and about the many changes to my life-style that I would have to make. He wouldn't agree to do the surgery until I'd gone away and thought about it.
I went back for the second consult about a week later, and he was very kind. Although I'm at the upper end of his BMI range, he gave me a lot of confidence. His basic message seemed to be that he would have no problems with the surgery, but that after that I would have to provide the hard work.
I will be having my surgery at Surrey Memorial on November 12th, 2004. That is just a little over a month away now, and I can hardly wait! I belong to a message board for his patients, and I'm amazed at how many of them are doing really well. They all have great confidence in Dr. L.

Changed surgeons** Now have Dr Leung for the LapBand surgery, after seeing Dr Leung I feel he was much more informative about the ins and outs of living with this change than Dr Doris did.

Dr Doris is very informative to give you all you need to go in to this surgery. There is a waiting list(long wait) but Dr Doris' main concern is his cancer patients etc. His staff is very helpful and kind.
