My first impression of dr. vanak was very good. He came in introduced himself and immediately made me feel very comfortable. His staff has been so nice, they seem to be very knowledgable and willing to help in anyway that they can.

He makes sure he has any and all information on your health back round to make in informed decision.
He answered all questions that I had.

Before surgery he will want to have an ultra sound of the gall bladder, and your throat scoped, this is done with al patients.
The after care seems to be structured, from the information I got.

Their is no misunderstanding the risks, they are laid out plain and simple.
So far I'm pleased, and expect the process to go well.
Surgical competence is #1 with me, but his bedside manner fine.

I first met Dr. Vanak at my initial consultation. He was very friendly and professional. He went over the surgery in great detail with me, and answered all of my questions. I had visited two other surgeons, and after I met with Dr. Vanak and the staff, I knew this is where I wanted to have surgery. The initial consult was 2 hours long, and I met with a nurse, then the doctor, then the nutritionist and finally a counselor. The nutritionist was very friendly and informative. The counselor is someone who has already had the surgery, and that was very helpful. After searching for a doctor and facility I'm comfortable with, I feel I've found it here. They have started a support group, which is very nice. Their aftercare is very extensive, and they stress to call them with any questions or concerns.Also, I was scheduled for surgery Dec. 2nd, and I'm supposed to go away in January. I was a little concerned with the time frame, so Dr. Vanak and the staff rearranged their schedule to change my date to Nov. 11th! So far I would definitely rate them a 10.
