Thomas Eubanks Bariatric Surgeon M.D.
He's not in Seattle anymore he's now in Portland. He was very nice and answered all my questions. He obviously cares about his patients but is very busy. His staff is awesome. Nancy and Amy are great- they know that they are doing and make you feel at ease. They are developing great aftercare programs- from support groups to excercise classes( with Stephani the physical therapist).
Dr. Eubanks is wonderful...but he's in Portland, OR not Seattle, WA.
Professional, friendly and informative.
I just gained more confidence in him.
Friendly and helpful...they care!
A little too busy?
Extremely competent.
Highly stresses this!
Yes, as far as office visits. He also has a support group.

Surgical competence...bedside manner is nice to have, but it doesn't save your life!
He was very young. And he was very informative. I felt comfortable asking all my questions. And he sure answered all of them! He used to be in Seattle WA, but is now in Portland Or. His staff is very fun and excited for me. They went beyond their duty to get me into the office and appts very fast! It was all done and approved in 3 weeks!
Dr. Eubanks (although he is in Portland and no longer in Seattle) is a wonderful and compassionate surgeon. He is completely down to earth and is very concerned about each one of his patients. The office staff is wonderful! Nancy, the nurse practitioner has had gastric bypass herself, and is always there to answer any and all of your questions no matter how insignificant they may seem.
Dr. Eubanks now has a wonderful support group for both pre op and post op patients. It is the kind of group where you can be yourself and we all know we aren't perfect. We can come with our concerns and our questions without having to feel guilty for not being perfect.
Dr. Eubanks is incredibly competent as is hi staff. He has a great bedside manner and even a sense of humor.
I would highly recommend him to anyone in the Portland area and beyond.
The only negative experience I had was with the gal that does the insurance billings...and she has since been replaced.
Dr. Eubanks was personable and reasonable. He took the time to sit down in a chair and discuss the surgery with me. His office was professional and helpful. He is considered a very competent surgery and assisted with one of the best in the Seattle area. My impression never changed especially after having a complication. He called and checked on me returned calls and took time to make sure I was okay even though he was on vacation. I like everything and would send people to him without a hesitation. He has nutritionists that follow you and will support you in your diet. He is careful about blood tests and following up on how you are doing. He has very graciously worked with my PCP. She has been impressed with his care and attitude. He really goes over all the complications that may occur and wants you to understand what may happen. He sat down at my last consultation just before surgery and said he wanted to have an eyeball to eyeball with me and make sure I understood my decision. Overall I would give him a 10. I believe that competence is most important in a surgeon but if they also have a nice bedside manner that is just stellar. Dr. Eubanks has both. He is always someone I was happy to see and never mind going to for followups
Dr. Thomas Eubanks has relocated to Portland, Oregon, he is no longer in Seattle, WA. :)
I went to see Dr. Eubanks after having previously visiting a different surgeon and deciding they were not really what I was looking for. Dr. Eubanks was wonderful! He was very friendly, thorough, professional and nice to work with.
His office staff seemed to be very competant and helpful, which was a relief for me, as I'd had a bad experience previously.
He is in the process of developing an entire "program", but at this time, he does not have one. I've had one follow up visit, and have another scheduled in three weeks, so the follow up care seems appropriate.
Dr. Eubanks is not a surgeon who is only great in the operating room but has a cold bedside manner! He came and visited me every day in the hospital and always appeared to be warm and caring. He was wonderful and I'm very thankful I chose him for my surgeon. :)
The only "negative" think I can think of adding, is that it would be nice to have more of an after "program" available, possibly with support groups, etc, as I've read and heard that is a big help with weight loss down the line.
My first impression of Dr. Eubanks was excellent. He was very knowledgible and he took a lot of time answering questions. He has wonderful bedside manners. Always pleasant and willing to help in anyway.
I really liked his staff. Nancy did a great job keeping me informed and up to date. Although, they don't fight very hard (or at all) with the insurance companies to get you approved. They pretty much expect you to do this all your self.
I have been a little disappointed with the support offered by the office post op. Some phone calls haven't been returned and they don't call to see how your doing after surgery. Nor was there a support group offered, which would have been really nice. I have heard that other surgeons offer all of this.
At first I was unsure of him because he was so young. However, after my husband and I spoke with him I became confident in his abilities. His office staff were very friendly and helpful, setting up the neccesary tests that were needed before surgery.
If you want to see someone who will tell you the facts, without dancing around or "sugar coating" things... he's the right man. He is up front, honest and seems to truely care about my problem, and finding a solution I can live with.
I feel I was incredibly lucky that my PCP knew about this surgeon. I feel very confident and hopefull of the future.
Within one week of my initial consultation, Dr. Eubanks had all of my medical history, test results, and letter ready to go to the insurance company.
