Dr.Beausoleil is an amazing man. He is well educated, smart, caring, and knows just the right things to say to make you feel better. At first he is very quiet and seems stand offish but after a few visits you see right through it and discover his amazing personality. rnHis office staff are amazing. Always there no matter what. I don't know how i would manage without Rinette and Lise..(thank you)..rnThe only thing i don't like about Dr.Beausoleil is his wait time for appointments..very long..lol rnI highly reccomend him to anyone thinking about having the bypass surgery. You won't be dissapointed.rnIt is an amazing life change. I rate him a 10/10 overall. He had answers to any questions. He informed me very thoroughly of the risks and complications of the surgery. I had no doubts what so ever after talking with him a few times.

I have just met Dr. Beausoliel this Monday , and I have found him to be very gracious and friendly. He spent lots of time with us answering any questions I had. I have to say I have never met a doctor that’s as personable as he is. He has an amazing team also. Chantal his secretary is the first person I had contact with. I have to commend her on how professional she is. I am sure it must be very difficult trying to deal with all the frustrating calls she gets from people like Me :o) Lise, Dr. Beausoliel’s nurse is wonderful and sweet. She knows her stuff and feeds you the information in a way that you absorb it all. No info overload. I have the utmost confidence in Dr. Beausoliel and his team.

My first impression was wow, he's really young...but as the meeting went on I began to feel comfortable that he was quite knowledgeable..I had my mother join the consultation with me as after the surgery she will be the one helping me to recuperate.rnrnHis office staff is extremely friendly, especially Chantal, his receptionist.rnrnDr. Beausoleil has several doctors on his team rnwhich have a structured criteria that you must meet before Dr. Beausoleil will perform the surgery.rnrnThe first one is an all day clinic with about 5 other patients that will be having the surgery where you will meet a dietician, psychologist, fitness expert as well as listen to a former patient of his talk about their experiences.rnrnIn the meantime, you are required to either maintain your current weight but they prefer that you actually lose while waiting for your surgery diet as it makes it easier for Dr. Beausoleil to perform the surgery as he has to lift up your liver to get to your stomach to perform the actual surgery.rnrnThe aftercare program is a huge part of his plan and willingness to do the surgery. After the surgery is done you are required to meet with him two weeks after, then approx a month after, then six months after that and then once a year t hereafter for the rest of your life.rnrnHe definitely makes sure you understand the risks he makes it quite clear that 2% of patients who have this surgery die, he stresses that several times during your meeting..rnrnI'm currently still awaiting to attend the all day clinic but I was assured that it will be soon.rnrnOverall so far I'd rate him about an 8 or so, since I don't quite know yet about his bedside manner..rnrnHe is really nice to talk too and during your meeting with him he does not rush you.

Dr.Beausoliel is the best. He is young and enthusiastic and believes in what he does. He requires you to attend a pre-op information session where there will be a bariatric nurse,nutritionist,physcologist and a successful post-op patient to inform you and answer all questions. He will also take the time to talk to you and thorally answer any questions and concerns and make sure you are the right candidate for this surgery. He encourages you to take your time to decide, and think everything over.The hospital staff are excellent as well. Dr. Beausoliel also believes in close contact after the surgery and regular follow-up. If ever you have a problem or concern you'll have the number to contact his nurse,the dietician or his secretary any time. I'd highly recommend him to anyone.

I thought Dr Beausoleil to be a very approachable caring guy he went over every question i had and never once made me feel rushed. I must have fired out 100 questions to him and he answered everyone in detail and even had discussions about the questions. I think he is a fabulous person.

I LOST COUNT HOW MANY TIMES THE DEAR GIRL THAT ANSWERS THE PHONE HAS HEARD ME ON THE OTHER END. God love her she must be growing a phone on her ear. I have officially decided that I will allow my husband to buy someone else flowers besides me and his mom. This women deserves it. She even takes time to laugh at some of my silly jokes ....there is not a freight liner big enough to ship the metal overseas this woman deserves.
He has great emphasis on after care and a lifetime commitment which is great to see
Future patients should relax and not be anxious he is sooo not a hard nosed man that lectures and frowns he is upbeat rather young and friendly.
The after care is good 2 weeks post op 3 weeks then 1 month 3 months 6 months 1 year and every year following
The risk were all explained to me and he addressed them and did not sugar coat them.
He is still young and new on his own which i beleive will make him extra cautious since he is new i believe there is a less chance of him being cocky or finding it run of the mill.
UPDATE ::::
However I have learned that he is chief of staff at the hospital so this says alot also of his abilities to handle complications should they arise and being a general surgeon he would also have a very wide resource and experience in other areas of surgery to draw from. General surgeon from what I can gather is a very narrow minded term for what these surgeons do. General seems to suggest that they do a wee bit of that and a wee bit of this. I have found out that general surgeons area tends to be alot of the gastric area and is by no means a wee bit of this and that.
I am very very confident in Dr Beausoleil and I know now that he will be able to handle anyting that may come his way with me and I feel blessed to have such a caring surgeon that has not only just wls to draw on but a vast experience in operating.
His bedside manner is beyond reproach which i hope he carries with him throughout his entire career. I can not say one negative thing to say about him he has been wonderful. Oh and hes a cutie to boot!!!

I was a little nervous before my consult with Dr Beausoleil because he has only been doing surgery for a year now. It took less than 5 mins to be put at ease. He is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. He takes his time and answers all questions you have and presents info in a straight-forward manner. He doesnt sugar-coat the downsides which is great because we need to know the truth not hype. He values patient input and makes a plan of action based on your particular needs. His program is evolving all the time because it is so new. The dietician and bariatric nurse are both very nice and approachable and also very knowledgeable. Aftercare is strongly emphasized. They are very concerned with your sucess and will work with you as much as you need. The only real downside I saw was the lack of support group meetings but they are working on getting one in place. With a 0% fatality rate I feel that I am in good hands with Dr Beausoleil!

I had been on the waiting list for Dr. MacDonald in Nova Scotia for almost 2 years when we go a new Dr in New Brunswick. I was referred to him in January 2004 and had my first appointment in July 2004 for my preop, I was approved for the surgery right away after the forms were submitted to NS healthcare. I am now on the waiting list for a date.
Dr. Beausoleil is very nice, wants you to ask questions and does not try to make you feel like it is your fault that you need the surgery however he is very upfront that it is a tool and wants you to be aware of all consequences and that you are committed to going through the process of WLS.
Overall he has a good personality and is open to questions.
