Svein Holsaeter Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Holsaeter seems to be a very caring, understanding person. I was very impressed with him during my initial pre-surgery appointment. He has been wonderful during each subsequent visit post surgery. He is a master in the field of lap band surgery and I couldn't give a higher recommendation for anyone who is considering WLS. rnrnDr. Holsaeter has a very busy office and the wait times are way too long. I know many physician offices don't understand that a patient is losing time at work and money if they don't have leave. Something needs to be done to revamp his office visit procedures. I have waited over 30 minutes in the waiting room only to be left for another hours wait in the examination room. For a five minute visit with the surgeon the wait times are extraordinary and can only be attributed to procedures in place for giving too many patients appointments at the same time.rnrn

Dr Holsaeter and his staff are very caring. I had my Lap Band done on October 19, 2006. Everything went good. I was trying to get the Lap Band done through Dr Floyds office, but that office was having trouble finding a hospital to do their surgerys at the time I was trying to get in. I called Dr Holsaeter's office, went in and talked to Darla and since I was already approved they got my surgery date in least then 2 weeks. I have my first after surgery appointment in just a couple of days. You might want to give his office a call today. rnMelissa

I was refered to Dr. Holsaeter by a friend who had had the Lap Band surgery. He is a very through and thoughtful doctor, with a great bedside manner. I have and will continue to recomended him to other friends for Lap Band surgery. I have moved from the OKC are to Phoenix, AZ, and have found a surgeon to provide follow-up care as equally competent. I am now seeing Dr. Terry Simpson. He is a great doctor who I would highly recomend to anyone considering WLS.

I met Dr. Holsaeter last April when we attended a seminar at St. Anthony's hospital and I went with my husband for his first consultation. It's not that I don't trust doctors, some are excellent. I wanted to be sure that this doctor was one of them. For Dave, who I am really crazy about, this decision was a very big deal and I wanted to have my own impression of the person he was trusting his life to...
He very patiently answered every question we had and we had a lot of them. He has been wonderful since the surgery in June, making sure that everything is going according to plan. I guess it speaks for itself that I have chosen to have him as my surgeon as well. His staff is everything you would want them to be, friendly and efficient. But Vicki is just AMAZING! Whatever it is that she does with the insurance paperwork, works! Dave's approval came in two days and mine was back in three when the rumors were flying that TriCare hadn't approved anyone since November 2004.
My advice is: Go to a seminar at St. Anthony's Hospital in Oklahoma City and meet him yourself.
Surgical competence beats bedside manner. But isn't nice to have both?

Dr. Holsaeter is very nice and informative. He has a soft tone that I found very comforting. He addressed the risks of surgery and how my life will change with the Lap Band implant. His Bariatric Coordinator, Vicki, is WONDERFUL. She kept me well informed either by phone or email during the whole process. Anytime I called or emailed her with any questions, she replied quickly and was always very friendly.
