Seriously the best! I am so glad to have Dr Clark and all of the terrific ladies at his offices in my life. Aside from loving Dr Who (lol) he really takes the time to not only make sure you are comfortable and knowledgeable, that your family is too. My parents said he spent a good 30-45 minutes with them answering their questions while I was in recovery from my VSG. Behind every great surgeon is a great team in the office. The ladies in the office are fantastic, this is who you are in contact with most of the time and I have 100% faith in their competency levels. I have always had to follow up on paper work or questions with other physician, not here, they take care of your issues immediately. Nicole, the dietician, calls and follows up with anything you bring up in your appointments, she also is always giving great ideas and recipes. She is also very budget conscious which is helpful as there are new vitamins and protein shakes that cost an arm and a leg when you are going through this process, so that helps offset the cost. Amy, the medical assistant, has helped me numerous times when I am not feeling well! She is quick to make sure you get whatever you need to get to feeling better. There is also Dr Rader's programs which are awesome. Lets face it, we are all emotional eaters to an extent and she really helps you decipher why this happens. She also has post op groups for those who have gotten off track and need some extra help. The support groups held once a month are a must. They do everything they can to get everyone evolved and if you place your trust in these people and yourself, you WILL be successful!
Dr. Clark is wonderful! His confidence is infectious and allowed me to relax. He is not one to stay forever in your room, but he makes sure to answer questions, provide vital information, and is always available if you need him. He actually has a funny side that is really great to see. His staff has been kind and patient with me. The aftercare program has been good as well! We have routine group support meetings with guest speakers and informal discussions. The Dr. and dietitian appointments help keep me on track too. As I move through the process (only at week 4), I will update on the continued support from the staff.
Dr. Clark did my original realize band in 2008. I have since moved to another state and am working with another surgeon. First, my new surgeon, who I really think is very good, said Dr. Clark put the band in perfectly. So I would say his surgical techniques are very good and he is a very good surgeon. He is not a people person. I felt like he rushed me through every appointment in an effort to see as many people as possible. He almost seemed uncomfortable having to talk to me. I have quite honestly had a terrible time with the band and have borderline achalasia - I don't know if it was the band that caused it or if I have always had it but I do wonder if this could have been caught before I was banded. He also did the surgery one month before I moved to another state - hindsight is 20/20, but I moved and was isolated with no support system in place and aside from the acid reflux, struggled with the band for five years. I think Dr. Clark is a good surgeon, but you need to be your own advocate and make sure you know what you are getting into. His physician's assistant was very nice. I just felt he was trying to see too many patients and thus did not have adequate time to spend with each individual. I would probably use him as a surgeon again, but I would be more insistent that he spends the necessary time with me if I were to use him again.
Dr. Clark was the best, he answer all my questions so I could understand and was so nice to be around and he was so patient with me.
I went back for my two week follow up and did not rush through he took his time asked me alot of question on how I was doing and he check me out saying I was doing good he is so kind one on one person love this dr.
every one on his staff was very nice took there time with me and just what a person needed.
I know the first time I was in Dr. Clark office and meeting him he was the one I wanted on my side he is great!!
My experience with Dr. Clark and his staff is two-fold. Dr. Clark is excellent and I would use him again anytime and recommend him heartily. However, though his staff is cordial and friendly, they are nearly completely inept. They cannot keep their records together, send out information necessary for your care, or keep track of insurance information and developments. As people, they seem nice enough, but as office staff, they sort of give the impression that they are all temps, all of the time. The aftercare is non-existent if you do not live in Indianapolis and have all the time in the world to meet with different groups. I do not know about the St. Francis group, I went to Community. The worst thing is that once you have this surgery (for me it was the lap band) you are linked to this group forever whenever you have any stomach problems. It's been two years and I have lost approximately 60 pounds. Most of that was due to an unrelated illness for which I was hospitalized. You really have to do it on your own. If I could have done that I wouldn't have had the surgery at all.

Dr. Clark and the whole staff at the St. Francis Weightloss Center are all amazing. The staff are extremely understanding and treat you without judgement.
Dr. Clark is very easy to talk to. He help me overcome my nervousness days even minutes before the surgery. He was nice and pleasent to my family as they waited for the surgery to get done.
First impression, professional, nice, caring, and a bit of a wise-guy. I knew this is the doctor I wanted to work with.
Second, the staff. I'm a self-pay patient. I've talked to several other centers, most just wanted my cash and take a number. Misty in the office is a complete rock star. Went from "Do you guys do the RNY?" to surgery date in nine weeks. Nine weeks.
Now, the bad? They do leave a lot to you. So if you want someone to hold your hand, they seem like they can but I think you will work better with the surgeon and the group if you are mentally ready (not, oh I'd like to get it....more like can we do it this week)? If you can take care of yourself, you will do great with this surgeon and the group.
Surgery is 7/21/10. Can't wait!
I first me Dr.Clark in October. HE WAS GREAT. He was friendly and direct, very personal and just seemed to have genuine concern for his patient's well being. After meeting with him one on one I felt that he would be the perfect doctor to do my surgery. Not only is he nice but his whole team with St. Francis Bariatrics was nice too. Dr. Clark gave me the choice of what Band I wanted, the LapBand or Realize band. During the surgery Dr. Clark also repaired a Hernia that he found (I didn't even know that I had one.)rnrnOn a scale of 1-10, I definitly give Dr. Clark a 10. Very professional and extremely nice.
