Dr. Yu was great I had minimum scars and the surgery went well. The recovery has been great and he has been a great and caring surgeon. I have been truly blessed to go through this with him and his staff. Oh and by the way his nurse Brandi is the best in the world only she could have put up with me and my constant calling.

Dr. Yu is the most caring surgeon that I have ever encountered he goes over every thing step by step and makes sure that you understand what is about to take place.

Dr. Sherman Yu is the best. He and his staff helped me gain my confidence back and will to be happy. Dr. Yu is a caring person who knows how to make anyone comfortable about having surgery. He is a compassionate person who truly wants the best for his patients. He helped me understand everything I needed to have a successful surgery. His staff and the hospital treated me first-class. I will always be grateful to Dr. Yu and his staff. If you are looking to have surgery I suggest you start with Dr. Yu, do more research on other doctors and I guarantee you will not find anyone better than Dr. Sherman Yu. He is the best in the business. I know this because I am a media strategist so I truly did my homework. I will post pics soon.
Love Dr. Yu. He shows such caring and compassion for his patients. He really listens to you and doesn't condemn or judge you. He provides information about the procedures and discuss which option would be best for you, but you have the ultimate decision. He tells you what is needed to reach your goal. A very caring person; great bedside manner. I recommend Dr. Yu to all family (mom and cousin), friends, and co-workers.
What a wonderful surgeon and caring man. His office staff is wonderful and they really know what they are doing. He carries the Center of Excellence rating. He is the head of bariatric surgery at Victory hospital (where he did my surgery) and they are out of this world. I highly recommend him and the hospital.
Dr. Yu requires a full program of testing, nutritional training, psych eval, and follow up after the surgery. 2 week pre-op liquid diet and a reasonable progression in the post-op diet.
One little story that convinced me that he cared about me as a person. Without prompting, at the pre-op meeting, he gave me the prescription for the liquid hydrocodone for pain and zofran for post-op nausea so I could fill the prescriptions and have them at home waiting for me after the surgery. No waiting at the pharmacy in pain on the ride home. I thought that was very thoughtful.
Dr. Yu has been great throughout the whole process. Anytime that I had question he or his staff was always there to assist. At first I was thinking twice about having the VSG done. But after research & information that I received from Dr. Yu it gave me a change of heart. If I had to do over again I would & have the same doctor.
First impression of Dr.Yu My My My Beautiful....Dr.Yu always told me what and how to do things and I would never listen to him, but one day I listened and his encouraging words have me at 148pds. down from 240pds.His staff is just wonderful. Future patients should know that Dr.Yu is a more "up to date/young/understanding surgeon"and not to mention a very knowledgeable surgeon. He has a 100% cover all rate with me and his surgical & bedside manner was great!***Dr.yu thanks to you my BMI is NORMAL***

love him; so kind and compassionate.
he always made me feel comfortable. i am in a same sex relationship and he was always kind to my partner and included her in everything. the office is beautiful and staff very friendly. i do usually have to wait about an hour when i see him.
aftercare has been fine; lots of education prior to surgery. his surgical competence is second to none; he and his partner pioneered the single site laproscopic procedure. he went in throug my belly button. the only reason he had to do one higher incision is because i am 6 ft tall. his bedside manner is wonderful. looooove him.
