Sanjoy Dutta Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

I had my VSG performed by Dr. Dutta in November of 2013 and have nothing but good things to say about him. He was honest and really upfront with me about what it would take to make the lifestyle changes that would help the surgery be successful, including making me lose 20 lbs beforehand and adopting the healthy lifestyles. He also informed me of the risk of transfer-addiction and told me I should just expect not to drink alcohol post-surgery, for life. I did not listen but wish I had. He seems to practice what he preaches with regards to healthy eating and exercise which is super helpful! He answered all of my questions and never seemed bothered by the many many questions I had, never seemed to be in a rush to get to the next patient! I'd recommend him to any one looking for a bariatric surgeon in the area!

The pre-op visit was excellent. He explained the entire procedure (pre and post) and answered questions. I watched a video of the procedure, he stopped it and explained other details of the procedure. He talked about the aftercare and gave me a good idea about what to expect physically.

You don't feel rushed nor feel that you're the #500 patient that he's operated on. You walk away with a thorough understanding of what to expect. And, best of all you have confidence that he is competent and cares about your case. I highly recommend him to anyone.

I had RNY with Dr. Dutta 10/10/11 and he has been there every step of the way with me. He is very caring and understanding. He has helped my a lot these past 7 weeks. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking into having surgery. Thank you Dr. Dutta!

Where to start? I cant say enough about DR.Dutta and all his wonderfulness i had surg lap.RNY on 12/14/10 but have worked toward getting this surg since 08 with that being said u can see how through he his in making sure u r prepared for ur life change hes very strick in the rules for good reason; ur life is in his hands and i wouldnt have picked anyone else for the job. I wonder if he really relizes that hes giving us back r lives if u ever been thin and if not then giving u a life of quality not qaunity. Im a better person knowing him at all and getting better everyday since surg. hes moved to a nicer area/office & it seems things run very well there. hes a caring surgeon if ur excited so his he if ur scared he will ease ur mind if ur discouraged he will pump u up its a long road & he walks every step with u. Love his cordinater as well Nancy shes sweet and very helpful.Dr.Dutta gets an A++++++++++++++ from me.

Dr. Dutta is an awesome surgeon, I love how he tells you the real deal, no b.s. I think his bedside manner is impeccable, you can tell he really cares about his patients. the office staff is awesome, from the receptionists to the M.A.'s everyone is so cool and nice. there is not one negative thing I can say about Dr. Dutta. He's awesome!

Dr. Dutta is the best. He is very caring and compassionate and very approachable. I would recommend him wholeheartedly to anybody looking for a great surgeon in the Kaiser Health Care Plan. The only thing that would possibly be a negative is that I could not see him after my 3 month check up. I saw another doctor in the bariatric group, Dr. O'Brien, who was very helpful too. Just was different talking to a doctor who I had never met before. Overall, I received the best care while in the hospital and so far have received great care after surgery.

Dr. Dutta is an AMAZING surgeon. He was kind, listened to me and addressed all my concerns. He made me feel comfortable and like I was in good hands. I'm sad now that I dont get to see him anymore! Kaiser Fremont has us follow another doctor at 3 months post op. I recommend him highly. He is a brilliant surgeon and a great person.

Dr Dutta is awesome, he did an a very good job and when I was looking into surgery everyone that knew of him spoke highly of him and I was very pleased when I found out he was to do my surgery. I give him 5 stars.
