Samaad Malik Bariatric Surgeon

I am in beginning stages but I have found Dr Malik to be Professional, to the point and willing to answer questions. His office staff are amazing and so helpful. Although Dr Malik has limited time with patients and appts are brief he has an amazing assistant that is filled with information and has a Great supportive attitude. I feel comfortable going forward with Dr Malik and literally putting my life in his hands for a brief time, to hopefully get my life back on track

Great doc. Straight to the point, followed up even though I was out of town

Ok.. so this is how my consult went. I was so excited then it changed... first my consult appointment was about a total of 8 minutes long. He told me he doesn't preform the VSG unless you have a BMI of over 60 and that he views it as "new and contriversial". I had my food journal of the last 6 months with me... he told me "I must have lied!" because you can't eat that little and work out that much and not loose weight. He then proceeded to tell me that if i was to loose 24 pounds... which would be 10% that he would give me his RNY proceedure in 6 months time. No Thanks. My other friend that went to see him you wouldn't believe what he told her!!! Said she was fat cuz she went to too many potlucks!! Now... this is my personal experience.. I hope and pray that anyone else that is going to see him and actually likes this fellow will have a better experience. For me I have gone to a different surgeon.

Dr Malik is great. He expects you to follow instructions, but that is for your own good.
