Dr. Grandia and his staff are extremely caring and thorough. They all have smiling faces when you go to the office and are willing to go the extra mile to answer questions and accommodate their patients.

Dr Ron is by far one of the best Dr's I have ever came in contact with. You can tell that he really cares about his patients! His staff is also wonderful! They make you feel as if they have known you for years! I feel as if they treat me like I am their only patient! They have a great aftercare program! He was very insistant on all of the risks. I had to take a test @ my pre-op testing! I would give them a 15 on a 10 scale!!!!

I first met Dr. Grandia during a consultation for my mom's wls, and was very impressed with everything about him. He is very patient and comforting. I felt like he really cared about my mother, her surgery, and her well being. I had considered wls several years ago, but it was my mother's wonderful experience and Dr. Grandia that cemented my choice.

I am in the medical field, so I am very aware of Dr. Grandia's bedside manner. My first impression, is also the lasting impression. He is very thourough, patient, and respectful. Dr. Grandia took time to explain the surgery in detail, also made sure to emphasize the fact that this is a serious surgery, and not to rush into a decision. He was very explicit of the many various complications, however he tried to explain how to possibly avoid some of them also. I have known several people personally who have had this procedure done by Dr. Grandia, and they were very pleased.

My first impression of Dr. Grandia was that he was young and very nice. Of course, after talking with him I found him to be very knowledgeable about bariatric surgery, the approval process, treatment, pros and cons, and his expectations for success. His office staff were very nice and helpful. They have always made themselves available to me if I had questions or concerns.

Dr. Grandia emphasizes aftercare, exercise, using the "pouch" as a tool, addressed concerns about the surgery and possible problems associated with it. He seems to take care with his patients and cover all the bases. I have a prior history of pulmonary emboli, and Dr. Grandia made sure that the cardiologist and pulmonologist gave me their "OK" prior to surgery. His staff was kind enough to set up all my appointments for me before I left the initial consultation.

Overall, I found him and his staff to be very good/excellent. I think surgical competence is most important; however, it's nice to have a Dr. and staff that is sympathetic to the feelings, fears, and hopes for success we have.

I was on the surgical waiting list from March 22, 2004 to May 6th...no problems with insurance or anything. I got the call...June 7th, 2004 is my surgery date!

I liked Dr. Grandia very much when I met him. He is young but was very knowledgable and friendly. I had surgery Aug 13, 2003 and I have only seen Dr. Grandia a total of 3 times. I saw Dr. Grandia only one time before I had surgery because I was aproved for surgery somewhere else but their doctor was not in my insurance plan so it was going to cost me $3000 instead of $1000 for out of pocket cost so I switched to Holzer and Dr. Grandia in Gallipolis Ohio. I saw him the second time the day of my surgery and I saw him the third time the day after surgery but then he had the day off the next day so I didn't see him. I was dismissed from the hospital the next day so I missed him on that day too. I have had two check ups since then at the center but I only saw the nurse and nutritionist. They said if I didn't have any questions for him I was free to go. I wasn't expecting that so I couldn't think of anything to ask him so I left. I was told I would see him on my next visit for sure but when I went in this month I saw the nurse and nutritionist again but the doctor was not mentioned and I was told I was free to go after seeing the nurse and nutritionist so I did and I didn't ask about him. So I have only seen him a total of 3 times. I might of just had my appointments on days that he was in surgery longer than expected or gone for other reasons, I didn't ask and I didn't see any other doctor in the center but they might of been there, I am sure one of them would be available if needed in the center, the center is in the hospital. So to rate Dr. Grandia I don't feel I have seen him enough times to do that. I am getting along fairly well, I do still have some discomfort with certain foods but it is improving all the time.
Holzer has a Center for Comprehensive Weight Loss and everyone who works there is very friendly and helpful. They give you all the time and help you need. I have called the center a couple of times and they are right on the ball with any questions or prescriptions you need.

I haven't seen Dr. Grandia yet, My visit is set for 3/17/03. I am very anxious and ready to get it going forward. My husband had it done in columbus almost 2 years ago and hasn't had any complications other than some dumping. I will update again after my visit. I have now seen Dr Grandia and he is very nice and helpful and really explained everything even though i already knew from the experiance with my husband. He was really upfront and honest with me. He really pushed for the aftercare and going to the support meetings and why they were so important. I rate him a 10 overall.
