Both are great and he has a confidence that you feel

Jay Smith has been up front honest and cordial during my visits with him. He let me know right awat that he is only providing me a tool to help me loose weight. If I don't due my part...his actions will be for naught. I would choose Jay all over again because his practice gives you the individual attenion patients deserve.

Dr. Smith was quick and to the point. He was nice and answered all my questions professionally. He appears to be very well informed about this surgery. He doesn't beat around the bush. He tells the truth and will break down the risk to you. He stress that this sx is only a tool. Overall, I was very pleased with his expertise. I rate him a 9 on a scale of 1-10. Jennifer handled all appts. and she was friendly and understanding. She is a post-op of the RNY and I believe that helps.

Dr Smith was very cordial and was very knowledgable of the Lap RNY procedures. He has trained under Dr. Laws of Caraway Medical Hospital in Birmingham. I have had only 2 visits and both were very exciting. The office staff are wonderful. I would recommend this office to anyone who needs this type of surgery. I paid $150 for my 1st visit. It seemed a little much, I didnt check around to see if other Doctors were charging the fee or just him. They have advised me on what to get for vitamins and calcium. I will be on liquids for 1st week and then mush for a week or so after that. They told me right up front the risks of the surgery and made sure I fully understood what was ahead of me. I would give them an 10 the overall senario. (1 poor 10 best) I definately like bedside mannerisms over anything else. I am the baby of 5 and demand a soft heart. Of course I want him to know what he is doing also. Now that my surgery is over Dr Smith is still there for me with any question that I may have. I have had 2 followup visits and will return in 1 week for my 3rd visit. All was a wonderful experience at Dr R. Jay SMiths office.

Well, I have only been to a group meeting, last week. Where we heard them talk about the surgery and answer our questions. I enjoyed the meeting. I have set an appointment to see Dr. Jay Smith in Birmingham, Alabama, his office on March 7th 2003, which is just a few days away. I will let you all know how the visit goes.
