I just had my surgery on July 6th. Dr. Schuster was my surgeon. He is absolutely amazing! He did a wonderful job. Surgery went smoothly and I am recovering very well.
His office staff is also amazing. Donna the nutritionist is very informative and they are all very helpful and kind. Eileen is a sweetheart!
I really have nothing negative to say except that some of the nurses and aides at the hospital post-op were not very pleasant, took a long time to attend to me, forgot to give me the spirometer during my stay etc..
As far as Dr. Schuster and his staff though I have nothing but the highest recommendation.

*My first impression of him was that he was sincere in wanting to help others, but kind os shy.rn*My impression of him over time changed to like him even more once I got to know him more thru all the many visits with him. He still has a sincere interest in my well being and really wants to make sure everything is right and that I am well taken care of.rn*I love his office staff. Everyone there know's what they are talking about and truely wants me to succeed and are always there for me to answer my many annoying calls and questions. They have never made me feel bad for calling or for having a question. They encourage me and uplift me everytime I see them. rn*The leaset thing I liked about the experience was that I didn't know what to expect the day, week, or even the first month after having my surgery. I went thru a major roller-coaster. It not only was more painful then I thought it would be, but the withdrawals and best friend I always counted on (food) was gone and I was miserable! They do not talk about these things because it turns patients away...I didn't like that. I would have still gone thru it if I had know...I just would have been better well prepared. But I also understood their point of view.rn*Future patients I think should know this, but other then that I tell people all the time how great my surgeon is and to go to him.rn*Dr. Schuster definitely emphasizes the aftercare and so does his staff. Like I said they are so great to me.rn*They also have a very structured before & aftercare program. I love my visits with them and the support groups. They are wonderful!rn*We learned about the risks of surgery when we went to the information seminar in the beginning and then again when we were choosing which surgery would be best for me.rn*I would rate Dr. Schuster at a 98% I would like to give a 100% but it says not to...but I personally think they are the best and have the best program I have ever heard of.rn*I would think both surgical competence and bed side manner are important. For my mental well being, I personally need both!rn*Also I just wanted to add that these are my own personal thoughts and no one else's. I speak only for my personal experience.
