I actually spend more time with Dr. Pinnar's PA, Mr. Paul. He is super supportive and on the ball. Dr. Pinnar did a great job with the surgery (lapband), so this is not a knock on him or his skills. But he is so out of the picture since surgery (that's why 4 out of 5). For his PA though, well Paul gets a 5 ***** out 5 stars. Sue, lead nurse, dietician, etc. is also great. Always friendly, glad to help me out with answers to questions and overall support. They are a wonderful team and I am so thankful to have found them to help me with my journey. I am one year out and so far am down about 60 lbs. M

So far I have a great impression of DR. Robert Pinnar. From the first time I met him at the seminar he was well informed and realistic about the Lap-Band. I am also very happy that he has a bariatric dietician on staff and she is also the RN for the practice. Her name is Sue, she is a very lovely lady with a lot of knowledge. rnrnOne thing that I love from Dr. Pinnar and Sue is that they are very detailed to the information they provided me in what to expect, step by step, including before, during and after surgery, and details of the surgery risks. They also explained to me beforehand what medications I am going to be given and I think not many doctors give you that much information. rnrnI have been told every time that there are not a stupid question and to call anytime for answers. Each time I call I talk to Sue and she takes care off all my questions. The made clear that is imperative the support they provide to the patients after surgery.rn

My first impression of Dr. Pinnar was of a kind, fatherly figure who truly understood what is was like to fight obesity. This impression has not changed with my visits to his office.rnrnBoth before and aftercare are wonderful. I was told about the risks prior to surgery and have been given amazing support post surgery. rnrnEveryone in this office is friendly.

I recently had my first appointment with Dr. Robert Pinnar and his staff. I am a transfer patient;I had my lapband surgery two years ago with a surgeon in my previous state of residence. I had a slip, a revision, and I am starting over. I was greeted with warmth, compassion, and humor. I first met with Paul (P.A.)at the Reston Surgery Center to get my fill(surgery center staff was A+) He was amazing! Paul put me at ease with his warm bedside manner, competence, and attention to detail. Sue, Dr. Pinnar's nurse, made me feel as though I was her only patient. She listened to my concerns, shared advice, and offered encouragement. Shara and Debra handled my appointment scheduling and administrative matters. They were so responsive, friendly and helpful. In my brief interaction with Dr. Pinnar, I found him to be straightforward and knowledgeable. I look forward to being a patient of Dr. Pinnar's and being part of his office support group and online community.

Dr. Robert is so fabulous. He listened intently when I explained my weight history and told me I would do well on the lap band. It helped so much with my confidence and I still remember it. I love the office staff- especially Shara the receptionist. Sue is so great also. She helps me with any problem I have and recognizes what I need so quickly. And finally, I absolutely love Paul. He listens, he cares, and he trusts patients and he is so funny. rnrnI am so glad that I found the Pinnar Surgical team and recommend them to anyone looking for a great practice with very personal support.

Dr. Robert is fantastic. He was extremely upfront and honest with me about what it would take for me to succeed with lapband and I appreciate that. rnrnI enjoyed all of the office staff - especially Shara the receptionist. She's always outgoing and friendly. Dr. Robert's nurses Sue & Deborah are fantastic. They're like second mom's to me. They're always there to help with any problem I have, even if it's a stupid one. rnrnAnd finally, Paul. I can't even begin to explain how incredible Paul is. He listens, he cares, and he trusts in his patients. Being the man that does all of the fills, this is vital. rnrnI highly recommend the Pinnar Surgical team to anyone looking for a great practice that really gives a darn about their patients.

Update - a year after surgery. Dr. Eric Pinnar has moved to his own office and I elected to stay with Dr. Robert Pinnar. Dr. Paul Marino who does the fills is unbelievable!! Sue and Shara and Debbie in the office are great and very helpful. I actually look forward to going for fills as Dr. Paul does them so good - and this from someone who used to pass out from blood tests!! rnrnrnrnI am sooooooooo pleased with Dr. Pinnar and everyone in his office!! I really feel like I've gotten an extended family with all of them! They hold seminars that are very informative for the folks interested and are happy to chat one on one afterwards. The visits have been great - I feel that I can chat with them about anything and they are very encouraging! I did quite a bit of research and came up with Dr. Eric Pinnar - and then was very pleased to find out that his bedside manner is as wonderful as his surgical competence. Love Sue in the office, Linda the NUT is great, and love Dr. Roby the Psych. I'd rate the practice so far as awesome - will know more after surgery and post if there is any change to my opinion as noted above.
