Richard Frazee Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Frazee operated on me 4 years ago with an emergency appendectomy. I chose him because I liked him and also because my primary care doctor thinks he is one of the best laproscopic surgeons around! I stayed in Abilene because of trust in my doctor and hospital. His staff is really nice and every questions I have has been anticipated or answered.
I had a good experience in the hospital and in the first weeks following ( I am one month out at present). The hospital staff was the most enthuiastic about my post-surgery. They praised my every move and made me feel really special.

The first time I met Dr. Frazee he was very informative about the open RNY procedure. He had a very pleasant smile and bedside manor. His office staff was also pleasant and very knowledgable. I would refer anyone intrested in the open RNY to his office. He has a very structured post-op care plan. Prior to surgery he did let me know that this surgery is very risky and could even be fatal. I knew of several people who he had already done the surgery on and I had complete faith in his surgical ability. During my hospital stay he made sure I stayed comfortable and as pain-free as possible.

Dr. Frazee and his assistant, Dr. Einspanier are well versed on this procedure. They both care about the patient and their well being before, during and after the surgery.
The office staff is very helpful.
Aftercare is important to the practice. They offer a support group monthly and encourage patients to meet with one another outside of the group.

Dr Frazee is a very kind and compassionate man. He wants you to be very informed before you start this procedure. He never seems to be in a hurry. His office staff is great. Aftercare is very important and you are monitored regularly. He addresses the risk and complications of this surgery. You must attend one seminar and one support group pre-op in addition to two office visits and physcilogical testing. He is certainly a 5****** surgeon.

Dr. Richard Frazee, M.D., F.A.C.S. here in Abilene, TX is wonderful. I met him during a surgery my husband had to have. My impression did not change...I grow more confident in him each day.
He has a very strict process to go through before he will ever set you up for a surgical date. He has a seminar you must attend before you ever see him in his office. He has you undergo some mental counseling through Shades of Hope (an eating disorder facility), he has at least 2 office visits with you and your spouse to make sure you both understand what will be happening. It will cause changes in each of you.
Also, he has to be assured your insurance will pay before you are scheduled for surgery. When he sees you right before your surgery for pre opt tests you have to pay the balance that the insurance is not paying.
His office staff has been friendly, helpful, and have made me feel very comfortable.
He's so busy and is liked so much office hour waits sometimes are a little long.
100%...he is educating me for a way to live the rest of my life.
Yes, he works with Shades of Hope (an eating disorder facility) to help with support groups, etc. Plus he is available to answer any questions and help me.
5 Stars!
Both are great.
