My first impression of Dr. Moore was very favorable. When I attended my first seminar, I had no particular doctor in mind. After hearing her talk about the different surgeries, I decided I wanted her to be my surgeon. As it turns out, that has proven to be a very good thing. The care she has given me and continues to give is first-rate. I would definitely recommend her to anyone.
My first impression of her was that she was about my age (mid 30's); very professional; very precise; very knowledgable. put me and my DH totally at ease; I have all the faith in the world in her; feel completely comfortable putting my life in her hands. She took a lot of time talking with me & DH. She has preformed by pass & lap band surgery on a couple of my friends. Have nothing negative to say at this point. will be meeting her again for pre op. will post more soon.
Dr. Moore was wonderful. She explained things so completely (the good the bad and the ugly!) I never even had a question or a worry about the surgery. She personally came out to the waiting room after my surgery to talk to my husband. I felt very comfortable with her, and most importantly I felt safe. I would recommend Dr. Moore and any of her associates to anyone!!
I really LOVED Dr. Moore from the first time I saw her at the WLS seminar. I previously had chosen a different doctor but Im so glad I changed. She really makes you feel special and important. She had no complications during my surgery and was very caring when dealing with my very worried husband. She didnt make us feel rushed on our appts. I HIGHLY recommend her if you are in this area. I live an hour and a half away and would have drove 4 hours to get to her if I had to.
July 28,2006 Met with Dr. Moore personally just after my pre-op tests. She was just what I'd hoped she was; professional, detailed, reassuring about the quality of her work. I got that impression after the seminar that I'd went to the week prior. Some people are not as ready to move forward with a female surgeon, but being a successful professional myself, there are certain qualities that are undeniable. She has them. rnrnLooking ahead to \"losing\" beginning August 2, 2006, the day of my surgery!rnrnK. Gibson
Dr. Rachel Moore is a wonderful, kind, compassionate physician. She made me feel totally comfortable and I trust her with all that I am. She is passionate about her work and desires nothing but a better life for her patients. She continues to be my "biggest cheerleader" and her staff is marvelous. They all feel like family to me. Dr. Moore insists that her patients become as fully informed as they possibly can and that follow up visits, lab work and support group are vital to the whole recovery and journey. I truly feel like the whole group of surgeons and staff have been right by my side throughout this whole process. This is an outstanding group of surgeons that continually fine tune their skills to make each surgery better than the last. I can say with all honesty that I have no complaints, I could not have tailor made a better experience. It has far surpassed my expectations. The point I make here is, each person has unique experiences. It is the patient's job to do whatever they must to make the surgeon's job go as smoothly as possible. We, as patients, have to be accountable for what we do and learn before surgey, during our recovery and for the rest of our lives.
When I saw Dr. Moore's picture in the paper for the Surgical Specialist group I knew instantely that I wanted her to perform my gastric bypass. My first impression of her was a sense of peacefullness, calmness, control, confidence, security, intelligence and compassion. I was truly impressed that she was the only female doctor in the group. Personally, I thought that was a BOLD statement.
The office staff was organized and polite and made efforts to work with the patients work schedule.
I think future patients should know that Dr. Moore is very professional and takes each and every step of the WLS process seriously. I feel that she wants all of her patients to be informed of the pre-op as well as post-op expectations from her and her staff.
I felt that Dr. Moore stressed pre-care to better prepare the patient for aftercare. All pre-op patients even nurses have to attend the pre-op class which is very informative. There is a structured aftercare program available for post-op patients. Office numbers were given upon discharge from the hospital and strict instructions were given per Dr. Moore to call if any complications were to arises. Scheduling an post-op appointment was very easy.
I made a office visit about a week before the surgery. All questions or concerns were addressed by Dr. Moore. Consents for the surgical procedure were signed.
I would rate Dr. Moore a 10/10 in surgical competence, and bedside manner.
