Dr. Patrick White has been nothing short of a true professional. I don't particularly care for one of his RN's, but he himself has been outstanding. I've read a few comments about him having a dry personality, which made me wonder in the beginning as well, but I would rather have a surgeon who takes everything seriously, and is particular about everything. Dr. White and I were recently interviewed together by Channel 13 of Toledo on my progress and his practice/procedures.

At first glance, Dr. White, appeared to be very stern, but he is the complete opposite. He is a good listener, and he truly cares for his patients. My testamony is only one of several that you will hear from his patients. I run into some of his clients when I'm out and about and they share some experience with me that gives me more confidence in his compassion. His office staff is very kind and willing to help with any advice or services you may need. The Dr. and his staff emphasize aftercare before insurance approval, there are many handouts that can be at your fingertips, immediately after surgery. The care after surgery is very structured. The risks of surgery is explained at every pre-op appointment', come the day of surgery there are no surprises about the risks. I would rate Dr.White and his team a very strong 8. As far as bedside manner and surgical competence, Dr. White is the complete package.

Dr. White is very patient and answers all questions completely. I felt confident in his hands. The office staff was kind but have a little edge to them. I would tell future patients to ask any questions they have. Dr. White is very focused on aftercare as well as the surgery he wants you to succeed. I have only been to one support group meeting pre-op and none has been available since surgery I will go next month. The risks and benifits of surgery were discussed very clearly. I would give Dr. White a superior rating in both surgical competence and bedside manner.

so far the office staff has been great I have not met the surgeon yet that will be aug 9th
I have had my consultation with Dr White and his staff. Dr white is a very upfront and direct person. hw want s you to be very well informed about your descision and the results both negative and positive. I think that he is giving me the proper TOOLS to be able to live a healthy and full life post-operatively.
As for his staff.. They are terific. Kristie took care of all my paperwork and kept in contact with me the whole time.
Kathy... listened to all my concerns and gave me very specific answers and helped me with some personal requests as well. I think the whole team of proffesionals that is part of the program are top notch.

Dr White is a very dedicated professional.
At our first meeting, I felt he was caring and had empathy for what I go threw to live
my life as a morbidly obese person.
He took his time to know me, and to tell me
all the things I need to know about this surgery. Due to the previous 14 surgeries
I have had in the past - 6 being abdominal,
Dr White felt it was to my best interest to
have my own day to have surgery.
This is so commendable of Dr White, it shows
that he cares, and wants the most optimal
success for all concerned.
I reccomend Dr White to anyone thinking of
this procedure. I feel safe in his hands.

Well from the pic that looked like it was posted here I was kind of shocked. I was like whoa something was wrong.lol Well I was actually relieved but I was nervous he looks very stern at first but after talking to him I felt very at ease. All the women are wonderfull they are very comforting. Because I have done alot of research on my own I was kind of aware of what was going to happen and so I could easily understand what the were saying so It was really great.
MY OVERALL THOUGHTS ARE THAT THEY ARE 100% SUPPORTIVE.

I originally went to see Dr White for a hernia repair and at that time I asked him for information of WLS. Dr. White was awesome. I haven't had my surgery yet but he and his nurses made me feel very important and comfortable. When I talked to him about my weight and how much I wanted to have the surgery he treated me like family. I felt very comfortable with the way he talked to me. I didn't feel like I was just a paycheck. Dr White stressed the importance of the nutritionist not only before the surgery but also after surgery for at least a year. He also suggested WLS support groups. He was very adamant about the dietitian, physical therapy before and after surgery, regular checkups, therapy for not only body changes but mental changes, and an exercise program that should start before surgery 3 times a week 30 minutes each time. If any of you have a choice to attend a WLS seminar don't make it a choice.....make it mandatory! You have to attend one. I was more confident and understood so much more afterward than I ever would have just going to the surgeons office.

Dr. White is a very quite and reserved man. I have had the pleasure of working with him giving anesthesia to his patients at The Toledo Hospital. His focus is on his work and what is at hand. In other words, he is a perfectionist and strives for the best. My first meeting with him lasted almost 2 hours! My husband and I were quite impressed. Before he even examined me he spent almost an hour with my husband and I explaining the procedure and answering our questions. We did not feel rushed and he stressed the importance of us understanding what was going to take place. He made sure I had realistic expectation about the outcome of the surgery too. His nurse Cathy was wonderful also. She made all the appointments necessary and scheduled the date for the surgery and stayed in close phone contact with you. I liked the fact that a dietician was involved as part of the over-all team approach. Aftercare with Dr. White is a life time process which really made me feel better about the entire ordeal. He was very frank in answering our questions and discussing our concerns about the risks and benefits associated with the procedure. He is top notch in my book and I trust him to do what is best for me.

Dr. Patrick White is a listener. He is quiet and let's you ask all the questions you want and then he asks his questions and explains everything to you. I have not changed my impression of him since my surgery. His RN Cathy is wonderful. She is somewhat abrupt and to the point, but she wants the patients to be successful.
For anyone in the Toledo area, Dr. White is a great surgeon, I wouldn't hesitate to send anyone to him.
Dr. White didn't talk to me about aftercare that much, he leaves it up to Cathy.
Dr. White has a support group that meets once a month.
Dr. White is a 10! My surgery went great and his bedside manner is awesome. He even helped me by tying up my clean hospital gown the day of my discharge. I was in the bathroom cleaning up when he came to see me and when I came out of the bathroom I was having difficulty with the gown and took care of it.

Dr. Kligman moved to Maryland after I was scheduled for surgery on October 6, 2004. I was lucky enough to get in with Dr. White and am now scheduled for November 3, 2004. Dr. White is very professional and explains everything. He insist that you understand everything about the surgery and requires that you meet twice with a dietician prior to surgery.
