MEDICAL WEIGHT LOSS
At the Nicholson Clinic, we are committed to helping you find the right weight loss solution for your needs. Beyond surgery, we also offer weight loss medication prescriptions and support. Patients in the medical weight loss program will meet with bariatric physicians and medical providers, providing you the same level of expertise and care we offer all our patients.
Whether you have a lower BMI and don’t qualify for bariatric surgery, aren’t ready to take the step toward surgery yet, or you’ve had bariatric surgery and are struggling with weight regain, we are here to help you achieve your weight loss goals.
TYPES OF MEDICATIONS OFFERED
We prescribe a range of prescription medications designed to address appetite suppression and help create feelings of fullness faster, supporting you in your weight loss journey. We offer the following brand name medications, plus generic and compounded versions while available.
- Wegovy®
- Ozempic®
- Mounjaro®
- Zepbound®
- Contrave®
- Phentermine®
NOT A ONE SIZE FITS ALL APPROACH
Not all medications are the same, nor are all patients. We take a personalized approach, considering various factors to determine the most appropriate medication for each individual and what dosage will be both safe and affordable for your unique needs.
Please note, while many patients do very well on weight loss medications, lose weight and have little to no side effects, others struggle with negative side effects such as nausea, vomiting or abdominal pain. We will closely monitor your reaction and progress and make any adjustments as needed.
AM I A CANDIDATE?
- Patients with BMI over 27 and weight related conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, insulin resistance, high cholesterol, PCOS, sleep apnea, arthritis
- Patients with BMI over 30
- Patients who had previous bariatric surgery
WILL INSURANCE COVER IT?
- We will verify your insurance prior to your visit. If insurance does not cover weight loss medication, or if you don't have medical insurance, we have self-pay options as well. We can also prescribe less expensive generic or compounded versions while they are available.
- Your initial visit will be billed to insurance. If going self-pay, the estimated fee for the initial consult is $216.67 and that will be collected at the time of service. The estimated fee for labs and EKG is around $90 if needed.
