I had the gastric sleeve Feb. 6, 2014 I love Dr. Jacobs he gave me a second chance at life to be healthier and live life to the fullest. when I first met him and his staff I was not nervous but felt at ease they was all kind and took their time with me made sure they had all my information and when I met Dr. Jacobs he was so kind and soft spoken he made me feel so relaxed he makes sure you understand the surgery and the lifestyle changes you will have to take on before and after surgery. he wants to make sure that you are not just physically ready but mentally prepared for surgery. my mother and I knew I was in good hands with him and the staff and any questions you might have they answer them all. the staff at the hospital was also wonderful and I did not have any pain from the surgery when I came home and no complication. He is the best Dr. I ever had!!!

Dr. Jacobs is the most caring doctor I have ever met. I have nothing but praise for him and his staff. He takes his time in meeting with the patient. He explained the whole procedure and asked me if I had any questions. I stayed one night at the hospital and he went to see me twice before I was discharged. I am very happy with my surgery and the treatment I received in the hospital.

I had a very bad surgery performed in Peru and after 14 months I decided to come to Miami because a friend recommended me to Dr. Jacobs. He made me feel like I was at home. He gave me confidence and hope and he was very clear about everything regarding my situation. Finally, I made the decision to have the surgery with him and I travelled from Peru to Miami to have surgery done with him. It has been a week and I feel like a new person. He gave me my life back and I will always be grateful for what he did for me. I would recommend him with my eyes closed.

My first impresion of Dr. Jacobs was great. he was warm funny and easy going.
My impression over time did not change. He is obviously dedicated to his work and he works a lot! Although sometimes he does seem rushed like many dr's.
There was nothing that I have not liked about Dr. Jacobs except that my surgery was changed to a day earlier with only 24 hours notice!
Future patients should know he is amazing and caring.
He does strongly emphasize after care and even has monthly support groups, but they are not required.
He addressed and compared the risks of surgery as they related to me and my options.
I would rate him as excellent.
Both his surgical competence and bedside manner were and are great.

Dr. Jabobs is quite personable, informative and supportive. He gives you the facts and takes his time talking to you. The doctor does address the risks and benefits involved in the surgeryrnrnDr. Jacobs is extremely well regarded in the community. Aside from excellent references and education Dr. Jacobs performed the sleeve on a friend of mine last year. My friend had nothing but praise for Dr. Jacobs and his staff before and after the operation. One year post-op he has lost 135 pounds and is unrecognizable from his former self.rn

I was able to read and see testimonials from present and past patients and see how this man has touched their lives.rnrnDr. Jacobs office staff is very supportive always willing to answer your questions and always willing to assist in any need you may have before and after the procedure.rnrnThe only thing I would identify that I did not like about Dr. Jacobs is that there is only one of him and so many that need his help, so at times if was tough getting as much information as I need and I had to get that information by myself.rnrnFuture patients that are thinking in utilizing Dr. Jacobs to provide their procedure should know that you are in great hands. Dr. Jacobs goes beyond the surgery, you will be able to feel his passion to help individuals.rnrnAs far as emphasization aftercare it was somewhat weak but the staff at the hospital did provide some support and information that provide me with information I need to take care after surgery.rnrnAs far as having astructured aftercare program; I have not seen one. Although I had to attend a support group before the surgery and I will be attending them now after the surgery.rnrnAs far as Dr. Jacobs addressing risks of surgery, like I said previously he was blunt, he told me that although I would benefit from the sleeve procedure there was that minimal possibility that I could face death. He was very clear as to what could go wrong and how it could be remedied.rnrnI rate Dr. Jacobs on a scale of 1-10 an 9.rnrnBoth surgical and beside manner were great with Dr. Jacobs.rnrn

Dr.Jacobs is GOD! He is great. He was there for me from the start to the finish and one year later we are great friends and he is always checking up on me. His staff is great and he is always available 24/7 to answer any questions or problems.I highly recomend him to anyone who is considering weight loss surgery.

I have heard mixed reviews. I know he is a well known surgeon, but I will definitely seek another opinion.

He was GREAT!!!! So \"down to earth\" and comforting...great sense of humor and \"real\"ness about him. rnEmilio, his coordinator is great---too busy now and they need to clone him...but great none-the-less!rnAlthough their office is SUPER-busy, especially after being featured in a great local TV news program, as well as the Miami Herald, they are totally accesible. Dr. Jacobs comes highly recommended from several other Dr's who either had VS surgery themselves (or their family), PLUS has a great bed-side manner...BOTH are important!
