I met Dr Todd yesterday, and was very impressed with his caring and professionalism. He gives precice explinations about the surgery, where he has come from, where he sees the program developing, and the part each one plays. His office staff must have been hand picked, because they are the most friendly, caring people.

Hi, I found Dr. Todd and his staff to be exceptionally thoughtful and caring individuals. They have an ernest desire to help individuals and Dr. Todd has thought this through very thoroughly before he became involved in Bariatric surgery and it shows. It is most refreshing to me as a Registered Nurse to see a Physician who is very caring and thoughtful to his patients and is willing to spend as much time as is needed to help them understand what this surgery is all about. He's also very honest and open about how he became involved in the surgery and what his goals are and what his motivation was for doing the surgery. Money was not a motivator and I liked that a lot!!!! It to me means that he is worth what he will be asking for his fee but it is not the motivator for what he does and so therefore it makes me very much more trusting to go through this procedure. I would recommend him to others that I know and will continue to do so.

He did himself personally explain the diet, what kinds of complications his patients had if any and what his limitations were on accepting patients. He also was very honest about how many surgeries he had done. He addressed the issues of risks very thoroughly.

I found that the thing that might make a few hesitant about seeking him out as there surgeon is that he is just beginning in this field and so has a limited number of surgeries behind him at this time. I was very reassured though with his openness about this and the fact that he did have limitations, stated them openly and easily.

In the Orientation phase he personally spent over 2 hours with myself and 2 other women explaining the procedure and why he was involved and about his medical career. He then took us each singely and gave us time to talk to him personally and did our physical exams. His staff then took over and talked of course about the financial side of things and what the plan was for interacting with the insurance company and the history that they had had with the my insurance company thus far and the lengths that they were willing to go to to get this surgery approved even if it meant going over the head of the insurance company.

Please feel free to contact me if you are considering having surgery by him as I would be most eager to talk with you.

I was warned in advance that Dr. Todd was truly a man that could walk on water. My first impression was he could. I have gone to many support meetings and when I listen to the post-ops from Dr M.Todd as well as the pre-ops they can't say enough good things about him. Dr. Todd is a very compassionate man and has gone the extra mile to get the knowledge needed to provide this service to us in Alaska,he will do anything he can to make you fell comfortable, as we all know this is a painful subject for all of us. The office staff are very helpful and caring, Donna his N.P. has also been great as a resource and a caring professional. Elizabeth really knows her stuff when it comes to insurance the "paperwork continuum of healthcare".

I first met with Michael Todd on November 21, 2000. I found his staff very personable and caring. I also think they were very well-informed for such a new center. Dr. Todd has come to recognize how overweight (much less obese) people are treated and how difficult their lives can be. I found him well-informed. He described in detail the options for the surgery including drawing me clear pictures. His bedside manner is excellant. He is a sensitive and caring person. I would encourage anyone seeking this surgery or information about their personal situation to contact him. Too many people have to go Outside for surgery which means aftercare is sketchy at best and they don't really know their doc and his team. While I read the part about having nothing negative to say, at this point in my experience that is the case. Possibly later my comments will be more balanced.

3/28/2001--It is 6 months later and I still feel Dr. Todd and his team is top notch. If anything is missing from the care, he adds it as soon as he becomes aware of it. He is constantly upgrading his skills and trying to find ways to make sure wls is successful and that his patients are as comfortable as possible. I attended a lunch time support meeting today and he popped in. One question that has kind of been raised behind the scenes is that out of his wonderful office staff no one has had the surgery and no one seems interested in it. Now while this is a very personal decision and just because they are staff does not mean they give up the right to privacy, it is curious to some of us why none of them who qualify have sought this option. I guess it is like eating in a restaurant where none of the employees will eat the food. Their competence and caring is unquestionable. One thing I really like is with a high degree of professionalism they are able to maintain a family atmosphere.

My first impressions of Dr. Todd are that he
is a very caring person and that he is willing
to take as much time as is needed to make you
comfortable, not only with the procedure, but
with him as a surgeon. There was one point at
which I thought that he had given up on trying
to get my case approved by my insurance and I
came right out and asked him if he was quitting
on me. He was apparently waiting on some info
and I did not realize that. Having visited
with him many times, in trying to get insurance
approval, I am finding that I am still sure
that this is the route I want to go and I
deffinately want Dr. Todd as my surgeon. I have
also found that his staff is very caring and try
hard to help in any way that they can.

I met with Dr. Todd for the first time today. My first impression of Dr. Todd was wonderful, he seemed to be a very honest and caring doctor. He explained and drew pictures of the surgery, which was helpful.

His staff was helpful as well.

Dr. Todd is a very understanding and honest physcian who is genuinely concerned with the health of his patients. He is very adament about individuals attending support group meetings before and after surgery. At first I looked at it like a burden but after attending a few meetings, I find myself looking forward to them. I have learned a lot listening to others success stories. All my questions are answered in an efficient manner whether by Dr. Todd, his staff or members of the support group. Dr. Todds main concern is the health and welfare of his clients and not how many he can sign up. He works with his patients and for his patients, not for himself. He has gone way and above the call of duty to get me to this point in my life and I will be forever grateful. This man is prolonging my life and enabling me achieve a quality of life that I have never known. I would and have recommended Dr. Todd to anyone interested in having weight loss surgery.

I was very impressed with Dr Todd as well as his
staff members. They were kind and compassionate
and Dr. Todd goes out of his way to make you
feel comfortable. I have had my consultation
with Dr. Todd, and am now scheduling testing and
waiting for approval. Elizabeth, Dr Todd's insurance
cooridinator has already impressed me with her efficiency
and willingness to help me cooridinate appointments
even though I live more than 300 miles from Anchorage.
If you're ready for this surgery, Dr. Todd and his
office staff will be on the case immediatly, I love that.

I felt very comfortable with Dr. Todd at the very first visit. He was kind and shared some personal time explaining why he even looked into bariatric surgery. He is ever so thorough, almost to a fault but I'm certain this is not a surgery anyone should do without much thought first. The hugs were especially important as well as a sincere feeling that he has a little devine support.
His support staff is equally kind and easy to talk to. I fully anticipate supportive aftercare and plan to keep Dr.Todd posted on my progress for a very longtime, I'm pretty sure he'll be interested in knowing how things turn out for the long haul. As far a rating him, he is five star in my book, so far!
