Dr. Todd was recommended to me by my PCP. She felt Dr. Todd was doing all the right things for his patients - making sure they were as healthy as possible before surgery, doing lots of pre-op education, making sure folks were emotionally prepared, etc. After meeting Dr. Todd, I felt comfortable that I was making the right decision. He is probably the first physician (other than my PCP)I have ever talked to that really understood I didn't choose to be overweight. His program seems to be well defined. He carefully explains the surgical procedure and the pre-op and post-op periods. He was precise and thorough.

As far as his surgical competence, until Nov 16 I must rely on my PCP's opinion, which is that Dr. Todd is quite competent. After Nov 16, I'll let you know my opinion. His manner in the office is quite good. He is kind and compassionate. He does not skirt difficult topics, but is gentle in his approach.

I had heard so much about Dr. Todd, I actually paid more attention than I normally would. I heard that this man "walks on water" and I took the skeptics' approach. I liked him and felt very comfortable with him. After seeing him 2 more times within a couple of weeks - in different circumstances - I came to understand why others hold him in such high regard.
Dr. Todd's office staff are more like family. They are smart, yet friendly. They are hard workers. They are very generous with information and taking the time to answer all questions.
I can't think of anything I didn't like about Dr. Todd. He is a great guy.
Dr. Todd covers it all. He goes into great detail about all aspects of the surgery and post-op. He requires that his patients attend support group meetings prior to surgery. I was not one for that; however, that's one of the rules. I am glad I did.
I would rate Dr. Todd very highly. He's compassionate. He is not a phoney. He has great moral values. AND... he is a highly competent surgeon with great after-surgery care.... very much a "hands-on" doc. Both, competence and bedside manner is important to me. If a great surgeon is a "cold fish" - no thanks. I want a compassionate person working on me.

His staff is very caring as well.

He requires post-op follow-ups as well as support group meetings.

Dr Todd has to be the kindest person I have
ever met. For the first time in my adult and
teenage years I have a doctor who really care
s about me and what I am going through and
feeling. He explained the surgery so well I
felt I was now an expert and have no fear. I
was more afraid of the tests before the surg
ery as I did not know anything about them. Hi
s office staff are the best. Each person trea
ts you like family from day one and really
care about you. They come to all the support
meetings Including Dr Todd, I think that is
a true statement of how much they care.

I was very impressed with Dr. Todd. He didn't just sugar coat the surgery as a miracle cure. He said there would be some tough times. I really appreciated that. I also appreciated that it is the office rule that you have to go to support groups before and after surgery. My first meeting with him was last week and the beginning of the appointment there were three of us patients together. That was nice as everyone had different questions and some I hadn't thought of. Afterwards we had private meeting with him.

His office staff was wonderful. Very encouraging and helpful. They really pull for you. I really appreciate the insurance girl. She fights the insurances until she gets the response she wants.

Also they really stress the importance of having support throughout the whole process and said they would look folks up that didn't come to support groups for a while.

He does go over the risks of the surgery with you.

I would rate this doctor very high. I had several people recommend him over other doctors in my area as very caring and thorough. My husband works at one of the local hospitals and has taken care of his patients pre and post op. That is how I got most of my referrals on him.

My surgeon ROCKS! First of all, he's just one heck of a guy and a really nice human being--and trust me, being an overly cynical type myself, that's a tremendous compliment!!! I've really enjoyed getting to know him personally and professional.

He's also picked an incredible group of humans to work with him in his office. Elizabeth has taken exceptional care of me, even though my procrastinating nature has her cursing under her breath after she's done listening to me make my 20th excuse about why I didn't have my labwork done yet. The rest of the ladies are always friendly and supportive and helpful.

Dr. Todd requires support group interaction before and after surgery, which has been good for me (referring back to that little procrastination problem!). I am glad that he isn't the type to slice first and ask questions later. It has really given me the opportunity to take my time in weighing the pros and cons and see if this is, indeed, the right decision for me.

Of course, if I have a horrible time recovering, my opinion may change--but I doubt it!!! :) I'm sure that even as I choke on that bite that I didn't take my time to chew properly I will still be singing his praises!

I met Dr. Todd on Wednesday, September 5th. This was my first appointment. My first impression of Dr. Todd was that he was a very warm person. I felt very comfortable talking with him and asking him questions. I also had the opportunity to meet an intern during my appointment and although she is not a bariatric surgeon, she was able to answer my questions as well.

I am very impressed with Dr. Todd.
He comes highly recommended.
The office staff were nice also.
I was looking for a program that goes
the long distance with you and I think I have found
the right team.

Dr Todd explained the procedure very well.
It is still a bit early to rate his overall
treatment. I enjoyed the support meeting I
attended the other night it is an excellent
start for me.
