Dr Peters was very professional. He explained both bands to me I decided to go with the Realize band. He seemed to have a positive attitude on how it would work for me. My husband went with me each visit and he even felt comfortable talking with him and asking questions. I have nothing negative to say about the doctor.
I had my consultation with Dr. Peters. He is very kind and soft spoken. He went over the two types of wls that he performs in detail. He gave me an opportunity to ask questions. He also asked which type I wanted and why and when I explained that I wanted RNY because I was a sweets eater, he said that was a good choice and RNY it would be!! The consultation lasted about 45 minutes and never once did I feel rushed. The office people are great also. Took the time to explain everything and I received a notebook to track my progress and to keep notes in. I would highly recommend Dr. Peters or his associates to anyone near by who is thinking about lws. This is a Center of Excellence facility and you won't be dissappointed!

Just wanted to say that Dr. Peters is a fine surgeon. He presented the facts about my surgery & what to expect in a clear way & although I could only qualify for the lapband surgery due to my Type I diabetes & since I had less than 100 lbs. to lose, he openly was available to discuss both types & willingly answered my many questions afterwards as well. Between Dr. Peters, his staff & the nurses at Christiana Hospital, I recouperated from the surgery in no time at all! Usually for hospital stays, I am in, on average, a week longer than anyone else due to my diabetes. This time, I came home the very next day!!

My saviour (sp?) Regardless..I wold trust this man with my life. He is the most gentle and honest doctor anyone could ask for. He actually CARES about his patients and never seems to tire of my constant questions and issues even in the middle of the night when he's on call. I just can't say enough about this fantastic man.
He was very nice, easy on the eyes and very compasionate. My impression pretty much stayed the same. the office staff is friendly but I had major problems with whether they accepted my bcbsppo or not. my first appt they said we have bad news, we are in dispute or negotiations with bcbs about money and will be done with bcbs so sorry, out of pocket is 8000. I left depressed because I waited a month for the consultation then had it then was told about my ins. then a week later I called back and they said we are accepting bcbs til dec 15th. So I ran around like a mad women getting all my appts. done. then several times the office called me and said they werent taking my ins. and I had to tell them to get together cause they were til the 15th this was very stressful....in the end I had the surgery dec 5th and they take my insurance even now.Dr peters requires nutrition classes and makes sure you have a full understanding of the commitment of rny. He discussed the complications and explained what most of his pts have had,and he also discussed its much safer these days and what the improvements are over previous years. I think Dr Peters is excellent.Surgical competence means more, skill of the surgeon but if the doctor has lousy bedside manner then I would contact another dr. til I found both...Dr Peters and Dr Iragau have both
My first impression of Dr. Peters was they he was very professional and cared about his patients. My impression from the pre-surgery to post surgery hasn't changed except that I still think he is a good surgeon. His office staff is is caring, well mannered and very professional. Every thing I have to say about Dr. Peters is positive. If I had any negative thoughts, I would have not kept him as a surgeon. He keeps your informed during and after surgery. When he sees you in the hospital he stops and talks to you to make sure everything is okay and do you need his help. He highly stresses the importance of proper aftercare. All risks of surgery were brought out in the open on several visits. You did not go into surgery blindfolded. Dr. Peters overall rating is A+++. His surgical competence and beside manner are great. I would recommend him to others.
My first impression of Dr. Peters was very friendly, well knowledged about both procedures. He wanted a few more thing done, we had a very long extensive talk about the procedure, so I needed to make up my mind. Dr. Peters wasn't pressuring me about anything, he was a great listener, and understood my feeling and wanted to help me.rnrnMy impression never changed over time at all.rnrnDr. Peters office staff was very professional always, even way before my surgery, all my questions were answered by his office manager. Awesome friendly folks.... rnrnrnrnrn
