I just made the switch to WLIA because of their hours of availability and close location to both my work and home. Some of the better qualities I have experienced so far include a clean facility, polite and humorous staff, short wating time to be seen, ample literature and resources, thoroughness in the insurance and billing department, follow up in a timely fashion and patience with all my questions and concerns. The doctor was polite, direct and has a great sense of humor! Kelly in the billing and insurance was awesome to work with! The only downfall is how busy they are. With so many people wanting to utilize their services, I'm relying on cancelations to be seen sooner :/

Everyone at WLIA is so wonderful and I can not say enough great things about everyone from the office staff to Dr Orris. Each person I am so pleased with everyone and there quick respones to any questions or concerns I have had before my surgery and after. I recommend Dr Orris to anyone looking for help with starting thier new life to a healthier life! So far I am so pleased with my progess that I am happier and feel amazing!

4/5 Stars for the Clinical Staff

Overall the clinical staff is fantastic!

Dr. Orris has been very good - I believe conservative with my band fills, but I respect his judgment. The nursing staff and dietician have been helpful and are very friendly. Yet, the billing staff when trying to get matters of insurance payments resolved was VERY challenged. I would and have recommended Dr. Orris and his clinical staff, but recognize working with his administrative staff and getting insurance in line will be a lesson in patience.

I am a patient of the Weight Loss Institute of Arizona and am very pleased with the services they have provided for me. This was a very big decision for me to have lap band and I did my homework researching them before starting my band process...and don't regret for a minute choosing the weight loss institute of Arizona by putting my life essentially in their hands... I am very confident in the doctors, nutritionist (Mike), staff and billing dept. They have always assisted me with my Weight loss questions, worries and any concerns I have had. I look forward to many years to come with them by my side assisting me every step of the way.

My review is on Dr. Orris and his staff. They have all been so nice and have made me feel very comfortable. They each know me by name and are always smiling. I had given up on losing weight until my doctor sent me to Dr. Orris. I just recently had the lap band surgery done and now I have hope. Thank you so much Dr. Orris and to all of your staff.

I had my first consultation at The Weight Loss Institute of AZ (WLIA)..and anyone who has struggled with their weight knows it can be very stressful talking about it. I walked in and was immediately welcomed and felt comfortable. Their staff was so informative and answered all my questions. I was able to get all the required tests done during this visit and the medical staff was so supportive.
The doctor met with me and asked questions and had me so excited to continue with this weight loss journey, something I hadn't felt in a very long time.
Not one time during my consultation did I ever feel they were judging me, I truly felt they were my support team. The Doctors and staff at WLIA , I honestly believe will change my life!! It's very affordable and only wish I would have called sooner..

i like the staff and doctors very friendly and got every thing rolling in my first visit! can't wait to make this my new family to help me getting healthy again!

Dr. Orris is extremely skilled, whether it's the lap band or bypass or gall bladder. I appreciate the way he handles his patients. He always tells the facts and you know you will get the straight truth. He has a great bedside manner and always puts your fears to rest. I am truly blessed to have been directed to Dr. Orris by a friend. I would recommend him to ANYONE and I mean ANYONE! He is very accessible and one of the best parts of my post surgery is he offers Saturday hours. Thanks Dr. Orris!

I had my lap band surgery on 8/5/11 by Dr. Orris. I have been very
impressed by the quality of care i receive at WLIA. From the time you walk thru the door till the time you leave, you are greeted by friendly staff who actually care about you and do everything they can to help you reach your weight goal. I found the surgery center to be a very clean, warm, and friendly environment. The staff quickly put me at ease by joking with each other and me. Dr. Orris always takes as much time as I need and listens to what I have to say and answers all my questions. I am never rushed out of there. I have lost close to 100 lbs. I no longer suffer from sleep apnea, high blood pressure, nor am I borderline diabetic anymore. Clothes shopping is fun again, and I have more energy and I feel great! Why did I wait so long to make the best decision of my life?

Dr. Orris and the team at WLIAZ are amazing... out of this world!
No one has time to read a long review, so here are the pros/cons:
Con: Dr. is usually running behind. They are still growing, so with 60% of the country obese, and only 2 surgeons at this easy to get to locale, you can imagine, it is packed. I see a day where they are on every other corner like chiropractors and dentists to be able to assist us all with our fight. But for now, when/if he will be behind, they are really reasonable at letting you anticipate that and show up right on time, or even a little late, and still putting you in, and usually in order. :)

PROS:
where do i start?
1)Dr orris listened to my fears and concerns, and as a result, ramped up my tightening a little slower, adjusted to what he thought my work for me. As a result, I have had better results than all 4 of my friends who did this.
2)They let you get filled if you don't have the co pay... they will usually bill me and let me get at least one fill with a bililng, then I need to pay that, obviously, before I can get another, but if I need to meet my weight goals a week before my paycheck comes in, they are still there for me.
3) they give you tons of free stuff... resources, tools, like the eating plate etc. for free so you can be on your game!
4) They offer support, and make themselves, even my nutiritonist - available to me thru email for regular questions and needs. I do not have to wair for him to call me back or something.


They really take care of you, and for all you PRE - surgery.. if your surgeon is saying it is only this much up front (500 co pay, or what have you) and then 'could be anything from this - to this after we find out what the insurance is covering'
just as an FYI - WLIA and dr. orris can tell you UP FRONT EXACTLY WHAT ALL YOUR COSTS WILL BE and they will again work with you.

With WLIAZ, you don't get get a dr office. you get a support group. So, if everyone else in your life is telling you that you should be able to do it on your own, and they do not support you spending money on this, then just know, that you have a whole office full of people ready to give you the scientific facts on why this has been so hard for you, and also, shocker--- they have some answers you can live with, too! :)
