Michael Carroll Bariatric Surgeon M.D.
I have to say that Dr. Carroll was wonderful. He always made sure that I understood what was going on, was very thorough with pre-op testings, and was eager to answer any questions I had. He never made me feel rushed.
His staff was wonderful as well. They were always there if I had any questions or concerns and were right on top of any insurance issues.
Dr. Carroll is very informative and knows what he is talking about. He takes the time to meet and learn from other surgeons. That made me feel extremely confident in him.
The first two days post-op was very rough for me and Dr. Carroll was right there by my side. He explained everything that was happening to me and did everything he could to comfort and reassure me. Dr. Carroll had prepared me for risks related to the surgery. That made things a lot easier.
Overall, I am very pleased with my choice to have Dr. Carroll perform my surgery. He's an outstanding surgeon who takes this type of surgery very seriously and makes sure that you do too. He' kind, caring and gentle. I couldn't have asked for better and I owe that all to my friend Nina. She is the one that found Dr. Carroll for me.
Dr. Carroll has been just great, I can not say enough about him and his staff.
Got better every time I saw him.
Awesome, everyone in his office has been more then hlepful, they feel like family
He is very direct but very understanding. Since I have less then 100 lbs to loss, he told me not to worry that he was very sure that my insurance would approve me because of my health issues and the letter that he submits for the approval.
Every appointment I had with him, he ALWAYS went over the risk factors with me.
He is the only surgeon that I would recommend
both are great
09/13/2004: A year and a half ago, I consulted with Dr. Carroll at the recommendation of my family doctor, Nathan Wilson. Although really just getting started in the laproscopic gastric bypass procedure then, I was immediately confident in the care I would receive. Linda (Dr. Carroll's assistant) is charming, informative and competent. Upon meeting Dr. Carroll and learning about his "Team" approach pre- and post-surgery. I knew I was in the best of hands. Aftercare is extremely important for the success of gastic bypass patients. Dr. Carroll's team includes more than just surgereons. There are nutritionists, psychologists, physical therapists, family doctors, and a wonderful support group of patients as far out as 5 years! My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow and I'm in the best of hands!
11/24/2001: I've been very happy with my interactions with Dr. Aslam's office thus far. I still haven't met Dr. Aslam one-on-one, but hadn't counted on doing so until my insurance approves the surgery anyway. After my initial consultation with Jeannie (JC) - who is absolutely wonderful in all ways - most of my dealings have been with the ever-patient Maureen who is handling my insurance approval. She's been responsive, patient and kind - couldn't ask for more during this stage.
10/2001: I have chosen Dr. Aslam as my surgeon. Although I have yet to have an appointment with him (I'm really just starting the process), he comes highly recommended by everyone I've spoken with. I really look forward to meeting him one-on-one as I was extremely impressed by his demeanor at the September support group meeting. It seems to me and others that he is most generous with the time he gives to his patients (and patients-to-be). I don't know many other physicians (especially surgeons) that take the time out of their schedules to speak with a group of patients like he does.
Haven't met him yet. Office staff seems very friendly and efficient. Surgical competence means the most to me.
Dr Carroll is a very down to earth, no-nonsense type of person. He is very nice, very concerned. Just starting out in the GBP WLS type of surgery so he isn't really "up" on all the stuff that is available or needed by patients or what we might need post-op---medical cards, restaurants cards etc.
