While Doctor Snyder might always seem to be in a hurry or having a pair of skates on, I think he is a very competent surgeon! He is high energy and very inspiring!
My meetings with him were very brief and I sometimes felt I did not get all my questions answered but when I read his material that he offered us, it covered most of my questions.
Dr Snyder is very health conscious man and tries to lead his patients to health with suggestions of things not to partake of after surgery.
I would use him again as a surgeon :)
Dr Snyder and his staff are simply wonderful. One could not ask for better care that he and his staff provided for me during my by-pass surgery. The care and compassion did not stop there they have been very atentive to all my needs. I cannot say enough wonderful things about them. They are truely professionals in thier field. Any one considerring him for this surgery will not be disappointed.
Dr Snyder and Patrick (his PA) are fantastic! My first impression was that Dr. S. is caring and deeply concerned for people with weight issues without being judgemental. My first impression was accurate - I still feel the same way now as I did when I met him. The office staff bent over backwards to ensure I have had a positive experience with this experience. There was nothing I didn't like about Dr. S. Anyone considering seeing a surgeon should know that Dr. S. has data on how well his patients do compared to the national averages. He is better than average in almost every area! DR. S. and Rose Medical Center put a big emphasis on aftercare. I am 3 months out and have had three nutrition classes and 4 office visits. Dr. S. addresses the risks of surgery in a lecture setting. You must attend a lecture prior to getting an appointment with him in his office. The risks are laid out at the lecture and in written form that you can take home. If I was to rate Dr. S. on a scale of 1-10 (1 being the worst, 10 being the best) I would not hesistate to give him a 10. He and his staff have worked hard ot make sure they have taken perfect care of me through this process. Both bedside manner and comptence are better than great! He is the best.
My initial impression of Dr. Snyder was that he was very confident is his understanding of the morbidly obese person's needs. He is very savvy in what he does and has a very streamlined process to be followed. His office staff is competent. They do not overextend themselves, and can come across a bit rude in the beginning, but once you start to interact with them regularly, you realize that is the way their office functions efficiently. Dr. Snyder's aftercare plan exceeds any others I have heard of. He is very interested in your success and offers a comprehensive program to make sure that you do. He addresses the risks of surgery very openly, beginning at his seminar and all the way through your pre-op appointments. He is an accomplished surgeon who is confident in his abilities. He is a great surgeon to have and I am glad he was on my case.
Dr Snyder demonstrates a sincere concern for his patients. Although very busy, it is apparent that he is skilled and knowledgable. Attending his lecture is an experience in and of itself. He is very charasthmatic. Therefore, one has to make the decision to go through the surgery because of the positive outcome rather than Dr Snyder's ability to captivate you with his charasmatic articulation.
Dr. Snyder's staff is just as busy trying to keep up with appointments and calls coming in. That, sometimes is hard to handle (the wait). However, they are a down to earth staff that cares as well.
The aftercare that is provided is better than what I had expected. There are several follow up appointments and several classes one must attend to make sure that you are on track. The enphasis in contacting his office, should the need arise is above average. In addition, support groups are highly recomended and pushed for one's own sanity and health. Finding out you are experiencing "normal" issues post op brings a sigh of relief.
As far as being told about the risks of the surgery, those things are very much discussed. One must make the decision as to whether having the surgery or having health problems are worth taking the risk for surgery.
In rating Dr. Snyder, from 1-10 I would have to say he is an 8. And the only reason is he is simply human and no one person is perfect. Although he comes very close.
My first impression of Dr. Snyder was WONDERFUL! I couldnt have asked for a better Dr. I feel so lucky that he did my surgery! He is the best. He is very caring and never makes you feel like your just another patient and he takes time to answer questions. He truly cares about his patiets and their rehabilitation! On a scale of 1 to 10, I give him a high 11 :)
dr.snyder and his staff are wonderful they always got back to me when i would call always very honest and always treated me like a person instead of a number. always felt warm in there presence.they don't treat you like a surgery case bringing them money my well being always came first through care and i know they will give me the best of best care during and after surgery!!!!!and there always honest and right to the point they have suport groups everyday tohelp and there very close by the people in the groups are his staff his patians in meny areas of post op and pre op for help as well. and dr.snyder have grate crudentuals and success rates."no person can be the best in all aspects" dr.snyder can!!!! i'll let you know how it goes after surgery too.
He was very charismatic at the seminar. He seemed to care a great deal about his profession. When I met him, he was just like I thought he'd be. He was very open, friendly, encouraging, and he listened to everything that I said. His office staff seems friendly. I got the impression that they are very busy. It is sometimes difficult to get a call back right away. I have to say that there is nothing that I disliked about Dr. Snyder. I was unclear on how long it would take his staff to get my letter ready to mail to my insurance company. That created some anxiety for me and some unnecessary phone calls. He is very caring and you know that you'll be in good hands when you meet him. He is very serious and upfront about what to expect and the expectations that will be placed on you as a WLS patient. He emphasizes aftercare very much. The risks of surgery were made known to me. I rate him as top notch. Both surgical competence and bedside manner are both greatly appreciated by myself. I am sure that he possesses both.
My first impression of Dr. Snyder was rather suprising. He was very busy with his patient load; however, he never missed a beat and enjoyed speaking with me and addressing all my questions and concerns about WLS. I felt very comfortable with him and immediately knew that he was my surgeon for my WLS. His bedside manner was extradonary and he always made me feel positive about my outlook after my surgery. This was very reassuring to me because of my many complications I expirienced. His staff is very kind and compasionate just as Dr. Snyder is himself. Patrick Sawyer is a very responsive to all of Dr. Snyder's patients and provides excellent advice. I appreciate Dr. Snyder's compassion for continuing his relationship after WLS. It is important to realize that he is your biggest supporter to your overall success. My impression of Dr. Snyder did change over time. He earned every ounce of my respect following my surgery and to this day he is someone I can truly say "Changed My Life Forever, Thank You!"
