Mark Lockett Bariatric Surgeon M.D., Ph.D.

I had my visit with Dr. Lockett on June 30, 2003. Dr. Lockett was very thorough in explaining the surgery procedure and the risks and benefits involved. Because of my size and build, I was informed that I will be having the open RNY procedure.
4-2-05 - Sad to say, but Dr. Lockett no longer performs bypass surgeries; his malpractice insurance cost had skyrocketed to the point that he no longer could affor to do the surgery. He CERTAINLY did a great job on me; I just hate that other folks will not have the same opportunity as I did!!

Dr. Lockett is wonderful.
It didn't, I've always liked my dr.
His office staff was great.
There isn't anything I don't like about him.
That he's great. However, I don't think he's doing this type of surgery anymore.
He emphasized it alot.
Not sure.
He explained everything to me and gave me materials to read.
On a scale 1-10, he's a 20.
Both were great.

My first impression of Dr. Lockett was great. He spent almost an hour talking to me and answering my questions. Never have I had a Dr. who seemed to actually CARE! but he did. His staff are WONDERFUL! Always willing to help in any way - and they helped me greatly because I was denied by my insurance the first time. The staff and Dr. Lockett both helped me appeal and I got approved. On a scale of 1-10, I would rate Dr. Lockett a 12! He is the BEST!
I had my surgery 15 days ago (3/16/04) and I am doing GREAT! I owe Dr. Lockett my life, because he gave me my life back! Anyone who has any questions or concerns about this Dr., feel free to email me....I'll be glad to help in any way I can....Good Luck to all! Thank You Dr. Lockett!

Dr. Lockett was a very caring person and my impression of him only got better over time. His staff seem to be verying caring and friendly. There was nothing I didn't like about him. He will take all the time you need to answer your questions.Dr. Lockett is very concerned about your healtrh after the operation. The risk of surgery are talked about and questions are answered Iate Dr. Lockett very high on the list his surgical competence and bedside manners both are great.

I meet with Dr Lockett today 05-16-03 It was a real pleasure meeting him. He answered all my question and concerns and explained everything I needed to know about the surgery. But the thing that impressed me the most was that he make me feel very comfortable. The staff there was very helpfull and pleasent. I look forward to working with Dr. Lockett and his staff on my surgery.

My first impression of him was that he is very caring about his patients.
My impression was unchanged.
Office staff was very friendly and helpful.
Nothing.
He is a wonderful physician and surgeon!!
A lot.
Yes.
Yes.
On a rating of 1-10, I would give him a 10!!
Both are wonderful! He came to the hospital on his day off just to make sure I was doing okay, because he had been out of town.

Dr. Mark Lockett is the surgeon I have chosen to do my WLS.
He and his staff are wonderful. I first contacted them around the first of
March and was very impressed by the way his
office staff treated me during our phone
conversation. I have MANY notes I will add
later about when I have contacted them, how
they have replied, and how helpful they have a
all been to me throughout this entire process.
My initial consult was April 4th and Dr. Lockett
was very kind and seem genuinely concerned about
the treatment of obesity and the surgery he
is now doing. He is rather new to this
procedure, but I feel he is well qualified and
has been well trained in this procedure. He
only does Lap on a select few right now as he is getting started, and luckily I was chosen as one of those select few.
He only sees about 6 or so bariatric patients a
month and only sees these patients on half a
day one day a month. You each have your
personal consult with Dr. Lockett and then aroudn noon we
all met in a conference hall and he did a more
in depth informational slide show presentation
with an question/answer time at the end of the
presentation.
Don't be alarmed if the person you speak with on
the phone has no idea what you are talking about.
Apparently, his office staff is newer about
all this than most of us are, so they are all
learning too. Although, I will say they will
do whatever they can to assist you and try to answer
any questions you have, even if they have to ask for help themselves.
