Mark Fusco Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

My surgery is in 3 days... and I'm very pleased with Dr Fusco and his staff. The first time I met him was at a Saturday seminar for LifeShape. He was the main speaker and was articulate and calm.
The whole LifeShape program is based on great communication, after-care, exercise and appointments.

Dr. Fusco is a very nice MD. He conducted the information seminar I attended 1/4/06. He has his own "team" at the Same Day Surgery Center where the surgery is done. You are in and out the same day.
You meet with Dr. Fusco pre-op and he answers any questions you might have.
Donna his Patient Care Coordinator meets with you pre-op also and explains the surgery, what to expect post op and the diet. I've never had surgery before but after meeting with them I knew what to expect.

Overall the surgery and process went smoothly.

i have known of dr fusco for many years as i am a nurse working in the same facility as dr fusco.
i also went to a conference that dr fusco presented regarding lap band surgery. i know that he has been doing them for greater than two years. in fact i know two of the woman that he has already done. they have both done very well and had very good follow up care.
at the conference dr fusco presented a very informative lecture followed by individuals that had already had the surgery. plus you had a chance to meet the wonderful people that work with him, donna, kathy, lynn. ginger . we also talked with the dietician ann. everyone was very helpful and very informative.
my impression of dr fusco has not changed because i have seen him work as a surgeon prior to knowing anything about the lap band surgery. but because of his reputation i knew that if i was to have this surgery he would be the only doctor i would entrust myself to.
he has a very good aftercare as well as pre care program. can call at any time and will always be given the information you requested.
as far as surgical competence that is very important to me as i am entrusting my life in your hands..i want the best and will only accept the best physician and i believe with all my heart and soul that this is what i recieved from dr fusco...bedside manner is somewhat important but again..the best i could have asked for...
i consider dr fusco to be extremely knowledgeable in his profession. very concerned about his patients and i can honestly say i have no negative comments..dr fusco and his staff in the office, his nurse coordinator donna who also happens to be a very special long time friend, who was with me for my surgery, lynn, ginger, kathy, the or staff were far and above exemplary...they are a shining example of people who really care about you not only as a patient but as a person. i could probably go on and on but the one thing i would like to be known as i cannot think of any better hands to be in than with dr fusco and his staff..i believe that they know the true meaning of being a caring group. by the time you have your surgery you feel like you have made more life long friends....love em all....sandy kane

Dr. Fusco is absolutely amazing. He is knowledgable and doesn't just ditch you after the surgery is over. You are a patient for a life time. He has a structured aftercare program that is helping with my weightloss and new lifestyle. I give him a 10 -- he is fantastic!

Dr. Fusco is a serious, concerned surgeon interested in helping people. He was very thorough in answering my questions and informing me of all the risks. Lifeshape of Florida is the branch which you go through for surgery and support. Dr. Fusco has ongoing support for life. He stresses the importance of the new way of life and of good followup. He sees us fairly frequently for the 1st year and then as needed for the rest of our lives. We have a support group in our area that meets regularly.

I would rate Dr. Fusco and his program very highly and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone considering this surgery.

He has both surgical competence and a nice bedside manner. I think both are important although surgical competence would tip the scales for me. Dr. Fusco is great in both areas.
