    Dr. Nelson has been in practice in the Moore/Norman area since August 2005. Originally a native of Bixby, Oklahoma, Dr. Nelson attended medical school at Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She then ventured to Ohio University Doctors Hospital in Columbus, Ohio where she completed her training in general surgery. Dr. Nelson returned to Oklahoma from the University of South Florida in Tampa where she completed her fellowship training in laparoscopic and bariatric surgery. During her fellowship, she gained experience in all aspects of bariatric surgery. In addition, she participates in research related to obesity and surgical treatment of obesity which has been published in national medical journals. In her free time, Dr. Nelson enjoys reading, scrapbooking, gardening, riding motorcycles, and spending time with her husband and two dogs.
