The first time I met Dr. Ash was at a support meeting. His partner, Dr. Souza was also at the support meeting! Very impressive with one being there but both surgeons being there was completly unexpected. My first impression of Dr. Ash is that he is a very kind, gentle, and competent surgeon, caring with before and after care of all patients. Two members from his staff were at the support meeting also, both had the surgery and are now skinny. They too felt competent with either of these two surgeons. Dr. Ash and Dr. Souza along with their staff follow your progress weekly and then monthly for the first year. There after, they follow your care yearly. Then of course there are the support meeting held at the office once a month. I have found Dr. Ash to be so upbeat!! LOL He loves to tease and laughs a lot! A wonderful person!! Dr. Souza is quieter but just as nice and as competent.
If you want the BEST of care, please contact Middle Georgia Bariatric Associates in Dublin, GA. to speak to any of their loving and friendly staff!! I rate the group as a whole a 9!! (but they deserve a 10)
I LOVE Dr. Ash and Dr. Souza and Charlotte and Gary and EVERYBODY at the office!!! I am so very pleased with my surgery and how much they really care about their patients. My whole surgery experience was great and the post-op is just as wonderful. They make you feel like you are a celebrity. They take care of everything! I've found the new Beverly Hills right there in Dublin, Georgia. They make you feel good and they definitely make you LOOK good.

He has a great bedside manner and really cares about his patients.
My impression of him remains the same he is great at his profession.
His staff is a mirror of him.
I liked everything about him
That he is a caring and compassionate.
He is very adament about keeping up with your progress and blood gases are monitored.
Very much so.
He addressed it in a manner that let me make the final decision. Like any other surgery there are risk.
If I had to do it over again it would be Dr.Keith Ash.
He has all the skills that make him the greatest Bariatrics surgeon in my opinion and I would recomend him highly.
Dr. Ash and his staff have been wonderful from the start. There are several people in his office that have had the surgery and they all look great and are all very supportive and understanding. Dr. Ash and Dr. Souza (partners) have a lifelong follow-up program. I believe they really care about their patients. Dr. Ash is very thorough in obtaining medical history and testing you from head to toe prior to surgery to minimize complications.
Dr. Ash and Dr. Souza were very understanding and caring about my obesity problems during my initial visit. They are true sticklers for following the rules for using gastric bypass as a "tool" for helping people lose weight. The office staff at Heart of Georgia Bariatric is simply the best. They are all truly concerned about the patients. It is like one big family. Treating patients like they are people and not just chances to make money, is one of things that truly impresses me with this group. The aftercare that you receive from them is SUPERB. They don't just do the surgery and send you home with a list of instructions. They make sure you come in to see them often so that they can check your progress. They also offer support groups in several cities to help out of town patients.
Dr. Ash is very careful to explain every aspect and risk of this surgery. He really works hard to make sure you understand what is involved and what he expects from you as a patient. He stresses that you must follow through with his post-op instructions.
My first impression of Dr. Ash - he is a big man! He told me in our consultation that if he trusted anybody like he trusts himself, that he would have the surgery done. He seemed very down to earth and very confident in his ability to perform this surgery successfully. His office staff is very helpful and friendly. Several in the office have had the surgery performed by Dr. Ash and they look wonderful! He strongly emphasizes aftercare and following his instructions to the letter!!!! He explained the risks of surgery but also gave statistics and stressed that he was confident that I would do great.
I contacted Dr. Ash's office after doing some research on the Internet. My first contact was with Susan, and then with Charlotte, and they are so incredibly helpful. They sent me a packet of information, and I filled it out and mailed it back to them. My insurance company (United HealthCare) approved after the first letter.
I had my first meeting with Dr. Ash in March, 2002. He is very helpful, very polite, very informative, and willing to answer any and all questions. I was concerned because I live two hours away, but he assured me that this is not a "surgery center," and I will be taken care of for follow-ups and in case of any complications.
My surgery is scheduled for April 17, 2002.
