Dr. Chablis gave me my life back. He was tough, demanding and extremely rigid with my care. When he said I had to quit smoking and I did he tested me at every visit. When he said I had to reduce or stop some of my medications and I didn't, he cancelled my surgery. He required me to lose weight before surgery and go to a low carb diet. All these things were for my safety and well being. He offers his patients free support group meetings with an awesome nurse (Lisa) to help us in the journey to good health. He and his staff are encouraging and helpful from the first phone call, though your pre-surgical check list, surgery, recovery and beyond. You are always his patient.
I met every goal I set. I hit my ideal weight, got off my.meds and I went from not leaving my home to walking, biking, boating and kayaking. I have a social life, before Dr. Chablis I had NO life.
Thank you for being the best Dr. Cheblis!

Doctor Chebli is such a down to earth doctor who is very concerned about his patients and does all kinds of test to be certain you are ready for surgery. His staff, Lesie and Elease are awesome, all very caring. Gina who runs the pre-op and support groups in Venice is super caring and knows what we are going through. These are all people Dr. Chebli works with. He is a very intelligent doctor and this is all he does for a living and truly is dedicated to helping overweight people.
Doctor Chebli is a key leader in his area of Bariatric Surgery. His expertise and wide knowledge of his field earns him the respect of his patients. He is very caring and takes care of any problems that may arise in an orderly fashion. Doctor Chebli is a well respected professional in his area of expertise, and is widely accomplished in his practice of bariatric medicine/surgery. I found Doctor Chebli to be quite personable and easy to speak with about any issue pertaining to my immediate concerns and needs as his patient. Together, we were able to learn new things from one another by open communication and hands on experience ( the Hoffman papers, him caring so much that he had to apologize to me for being a bit to abrut with me by yelling a bit at me). We established a very well versed and openly communitive Doctor Patient relationship. I enjoy being a patient of Doctor Chebli. He did my sleeve surgery, and had to spend a lot of extra time removing scar tissue inside of me. I am grateful that he was able to accomplish my surgery and remove the scar tissue on the same day. I am delighted to report on this fourth day of December, 2014; I have lost approximately sixty pounds thus far. I thank Doctor Chebli and his fine staff, for teaching me how to accomplish healthy weight loss. The surgery has been a success thus far. I am thrilled!! I have a renewed sense of accomplishment for myself and a new feeling of freedom. I can move about much easier now, and am much less dependent upon others for help with daily personal needs. The best news of all is that I have not had to have any more insulin since the day of my surgery; praise the Lord for that fact alone! My sincere thanks to Dr. Chebli and his competent staff.

I'm so thrilled to have had my VSG, but more importantly is I'm thrilled that I chose the right Doctor. Dr. Chebli, and his entire staff, and support professionals were amazing. This doctor is very well respected by his colleagues, and his patients. I found him to be very through, caring, and easy to talk with. Every concern, and question I had was answered completely to my satisfaction. I would highly recommend Dr. Joseph Chebli.

I started my journey in May 2014 with Dr. Chebli. I felt comfortable with him from the start, he is funny and just a great guy. Not to mention good looking :-) I had gastric bypass 8/18/2014 and I am doing good. He did was he was suppose to and came to visit and chat everyday in the hospital. Would recommend him for everyone, he is a great doctor!

I was initially struck with Dr. C's thoroughness and the amount of time he spent with me going over the options and responding to any questions I had. Same with the office staff-never felt rushed with Leslie the nurse or Gina the Bariatric Coordinator. Gina is just dynamic and runs great support groups as well as being there individually for each Patient. Dr. Chebli will continue to follow-up with me and mentioned a 'lifetime commitment' to his patients. All risks and benefits were covered in full and I saw him 3 times in a 2 day hospital stay ( my surgery was July 30th) so I was able to ask questions "on the fly" as well. His awards and commendations speak to his skill but his 'bedside manner' is what really sets him apart. I'm a retired RN and have worked with my share of surgeons but none as professional, supportive and caring as Dr. Chebli. If there were six stars to award I would do so without hesitation.
Last summer both my primary care doctor and my cardiac care doctor suggested gastric bypass surgery. I thought I was to old (72) but looked into surgeons in my area. At that time only three in FL were recommended by my insurance company and all were too far away. After the first of the year my primary care dr. Told me about Dr Chebli moving to the Venice area. I called insurance co. And they had added him to their approval list. I had also seen an endocronologist that also was in Dr Chebli's corner. After the first visit I knew this was the right thing to do. Dr Chebli assured me that not only it would help my weight (my BMI was 44) but that it could possibly help blood pressure, diabetes, my bad back and everything in between. I had my roux-n-y surgery on June 25, 2014 and am off most medication including diabetic and blood pressure. I have Dr Chebli and his staff to thank for all the success. They are very caring and interested in all aspects of this procedure. Thanks again to Dr Chebli.
I had the pleasure of going to Dr.Chebli’s office in March 2014 for a revision. I drive over two hours to his office, so that should indicate something. I have experienced nothing but pure, genuine, care and concern from him and All of his staff. The attentive manner in which I was treated, cannot describe the people in his office, as well as himself.
There was nothing I really had to do, as his staff members handle all of the paperwork, insurance verification, and scheduling of the surgery. All of this was a breeze, and staff kept in contact with me from beginning to end.
On surgery day, his staff met me in the lobby of the hotel, and stayed with me throughout the day.
Dr. Chebli is more than a physician. He is one caring individual, who wants the best for all of his patients.
On more than several occasions, I have been offered more assistance, follow-up calls and whatever was necessary during this entire procedure and follow up care.
He is the elite of elite, and I see why he acquired Top Doctor in Seattle’s Best Magazine!; a person can’t go wrong by seeing him.
