Jesse Lopez Bariatric Surgeon D.O.

I really like Dr. Lopez, he is very easy to talk to, and everyone in the office is great. I do wish they had a better aftercare program, and I think he should have come to the hospital the next day after surgery to see his patients. Overall though I am very happy with my choice and would highly recommend him to others.

I was supposed to have an appointment with Dr. Malley, but he left the practice in the middle of the night, I guess. I drove 4 hours to the apt., so I was not about to have driven that far for nothing, so I was completely taken by surprise. He is very nice, and he made me feel comfortable. The office staff is fine. There was a man that I talked to that wore a pistol- which was quite un-nerving. I didn't said anything, but I was scared. Dr. Lopez has a mullet, so some might be taken aback by this also, but that doesn't bother me in the least. I liked that he prescribed a nausea patch and nexium pill before surgery. I had no problems. I was rather surprised that the office did not call my home after surgery. The Heartland Hospital did- which I loved. They were great. Dr. Lopez did discuss the risks, and how important it was to follow the plan. I was glad to get the staples out, and glad that I got to visit with Dr. Lopez again. I feel he is a good surgeon. It was a much easier process than I thought it was going to be. I "stressed" too much. I have had no complications, so he must have done his job.

Dr. Lopez Is INCREDIBLE! He is warm and genuine. He is very down to earth. He presents himself, the surgery and his facility very well. His manner instill confidience. Dr. Lopez was very accomodating and answered all my questions very honestly
The office staff has been in close contact with me. There was a bit of confusion about the breakdown of fees and the timing of the payment, but every issue was immediatley addressed and satisfied. They are organized, frinedly, understanding and available.
After care is included in the fee and discussed in the informational seminar. Miswest Institute for Bariatric Surgery is expanding the services offered for all of its patients to include a work out facility design for larger people and more folks available for nutitional and support classes. I would like for more of this to already be in place, but knowing they are moving in that direction is good. Current;y, there is a loosly structured support group. There is a nurse available 24-7 for ANY reason- including just having some one to tell that you are not shopping in the PLUS size section for the first time!

I just had my consultation with Dr. Lopez. The office was small and quaint. He was a very informative and nice man. His staff was very helpful also. Dr. Lopez has you go through many precausionary appointments before surgery is performed. I will have to go to a pulmanary specialist for a sleep test to make sure I do not have sleep apnea. I will have to go to a cardiologist, a psychologist, a physical therapist (to teach me how to excercise correctly after surgery), and a nutritionist (to teach me to eat correctly after surgery). I will also continue physical therapy after surgery. I felt very comfortable with him. He answered all of the questions I had about risks and complications. I am looking forward to being his patient. The only thing I didn't like about him was his mullet (LOL). And did kind of dance around my question on cost. But, over all I give him an 8 out 10.
