Jeffrey Baker Bariatric Surgeon MD

The surgeon was very \"matter of fact\" and focused on the surgery/procedure. Very little bedside manner in my professional opinion. I have no regrets.

So far Dr Jeff Baker has been great to work with. His staff is excellent and he has been very understanding with any questions or concerns that I have. He really puts you at ease!!

I had surgery on 7/21/09 and I would recommend Dr. Baker to anyone! He has a very gentle bedside manner. He is VERY knowledgeable and can answer any question you throw at him with a thorough answer on the spot! His mild manner was appealing to me. He isn't one of those surgeons with a god complex or one who treats you as if he is doing you a HUGE favor by doing your surgery. He and his office are easy to get in contact with if needed post op. I had to page him to ask a question about one of my incisions and he called me back within half an hour. He didn't make me feel stupid for paging him for a simple answer to a simple question and in fact thanked me for calling him. I could seriously go on and on about how great he is but there isn't enough space for that....

Dr. Jeff has been great. I had surgery 9/24/07. My weight loss journey is difficult. I was doing well until I got reflux last summer, a bad case of the flu 9/08, walking pnemonia 2/9 and other stomach problems. I got to have an endoscope last month. Dr. Jeff is easy to reach for emergencies and doesn't give you the feelilng your being a pain. He is encouraging through all the ups and downs. The staff is great and positive. AFtercare is available and if you can make it-do it!I am so glad I chose him for my surgeon.

My first impression was that he is very kind and soft spoken. He answered all questions I had and made me feel at ease with the entire process. Great bedside manner and surgical competence. I'd rate him a 10!

2007 Follow up/aftercare:He exceeds my expectations. He really takes a personal interest in each and every patient. He doesn't make you feel rushed and makes sure you don't have any questions and that you understand the guidelines you need to follow. Dr. Jeff is WONDERFUL!!!

2009 2 Year Follow Up! I had my 2 year check up yesterday. Still the same fantastic doctor! He reiterated to call/page him when having problems, went over the band basics,etc. Such a personable doctor and he and his staff make you feel welcome in his office. Fantastic!

2012 4.5 years f/u: Dr. Jeff his office staff are great! Work with you and find a solution that works best for you. Still same great place. Such a wonderful place.

Really loved everything they did. The staff was very helpful and there for anything I needed. Along with the RNY he also found a hernia that he fixed at the same time.

Hi everyone, my name is Kim D. and I had lap band surgery with Dr. Jeff Baker. Since the moment I started the program I was impressed with the professionalism and care that I received both from Dr. Baker and all of the staff that I encountered. Since the lap band requires maintainance, I was in the clinic about every 6 weeks and was very happy with how my fills were handled. I was told that I could page him at any time if I had a concern and one time when I was overfilled, was able to come in right away and get some fluid taken out. I would recommend Dr. Jeff Baker to anyone considering this surgery. Great surgeon and overall nice person who cares about what he does. I've lost over 100 lbs. and thank Dr. Baker for this change in my life. Yahoo!!

My first impression was this doctor is really going to take care of me. Then as time went on I wasn't not having the same experiece that I did at first. He told me that he would be on call for me, however that was not the case. There were times when I would have changes in my body and I would want to know if I was ok. I would call him and leave messages with his office and I wouldn't hear from him for days. A couple things that I was going through was dehydration and UTI and he wasn't returning my call. I tried calling the nurse line and all they did was refer me back to my doctor. So I would say that was the part about my experience I liked the least. I would say that future patients should know that this doctor is not going to be there for you all the way like he says he will be. The after care program was shown on video and didn't give you a lot of ideas of what a \"normal\" meal looks like.

Dr. Jeffery Baker is a great doctor. He has a great personality and made me feel comfortable in his abilities. He explained some extra steps and precautions he takes to ensure as minimal complications as possible. I felt really safe in his expert care. Dr. Baker also cares about his patients as people. We are not just a number to him. He even went so far as to take some awesome before and after photos of my stomach for me for my scrapbook! Thank you Dr. Baker!

Dr. Baker has been fantastic! He took the time to answer every question I had before and after surgery. We went over the risks of surgery in detail (scary, but necessary). He even gives out his pager number in case you have problems after surgery.rnrnHe really emphasizes aftercare with the Unity Bariatric Center for the first year and then annual appointments with him.rnrnI would rate him 10+ for both surgical competence and bedside manner. Truly a great man.
