Jeffrey B. Matthews Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.
My doctors were Mathews and Gersin. I was very happy with them. The Office staff were very supportive. They all wished me the best and have been very encouraging to me.I didn't have any bad feelings about either doctor. Dr. Gersin did the actual surgery. He has a great bed side manor, which is very inportant for those laying in the bed. Aftercare is very inportant to him. His office has a program set up to help the patient get to where they want to be. The doctor was very upfront about the risks. He shot straight from the hip. The only problem I had was that he took the staples out after 9 days. This has caused an open insision and I will now have a larger scar.
Hello - and I hope that this helps someone out there! Well, as you know by now my doctor was Dr. Matthews of Cincinati, Ohio.
My first impression of him was a little shaky to say the least. I wasnt sure if I liked him or not.. But the more I talked to him the more I liked him. He is a very nice man and seems to be good at what he does. I have talked to many people about him and I cant find one bad thing about him. EVERYONE has nothing but wonderful things to say about him. Heck, I even had a UC nurse friend of mine check him out and she couldnt find anything bad about him either. So, guess if you make the choice to go with him, it is a wise one :)The only thing that I wasnt to happy about, while I was in the hospital Dr. Matthews only came in the room 2 times to see me. But of course his staff of res. docs do come in every morning at the break of dawn to check on you and your pain control, which was good.
His staff seems to be nice even though I havent really worked with them that much. I had some questions for his nurse Kimberly and see called me back in a fast manner, I was really very impressed with this.
I FINALLY GOT TO MEET WITH DR.MATTHEWS AND HE SCHEDULED MY SURGERY FOR FRIDAY SEPT.28,2001. DR. MATTHEWS IS A VERY SWEET AND PERFESSIONAL PERSON. HE ANSWERS ALL OF MY CONCERNS AND QUESTIONS BEFORE HE SCHEDULED MY SURGERY. HE WAS VERY THOROUGH AND HONEST. I'LL LET YOU ALL KNOW HOW THINGS GO WENT I GET BACK HOME. EVERYONE REMEMBER ME IN YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ON SET.28TH.
Dr Matthews is Chairman,Department of Surgery University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
This was my first meeting with Dr Matthews, he gave me all the in and outs of what I should see happen. He said that they would call with the surgery date in 2-3 days. It should be about the first of October.Todays date is 9/05/01.
Although I have not met with Dr. Fallang personally, my first impression of him as I attended his seminar was that he seemed very knowledgable and thorough. He was willing to answer any and all questions. His staff also seemed very nice and helpful. I was given a contact person for the office and met with her after the seminar. I was told that I have a very good insurance company and that getting approved should not be a problem. This made me very excited and anxious. Unfortunately, even though I was told that I would be contacted within a couple of days, it has now been a month and I have heard nothing. I have called and left messages for my contact person twice but have never received a return call. The last time I called one of the other workers in the office told me that they were just way behind because they had been overwhelmed with calls after the Carnie Wilson article came out. I'm very disappointed about this but I remain optimistic that I will be contacted soon.
