First impression of Dr. K, I liked him right away. he is honest and to the point. makes you feel very at ease. I have had two visits so far with him and haven't changed my mind! His nurse is also a lovely person and warm and caring. they are both very easy to talk to and ask questions of and not feel like your being rushed or stupid.
have another appt the end of january. hope to get a date then, I hope I hope.

When I first met Dr. Kuhn, I was very nervous. I had first seen Dr. Coe in the same practice, but wanted to have the procedure done Laporscopic (? spelling). When I first met him, I kinda thought he was a bit young, and did not seem to be 100% sure of what he was telling me.... he kept asking me, "if I knew what he meant".. As I sat there longer, I realized that he wanted me to be 100% sure I knew what I was getting myself in for. The people in the office were great.. There is a huge wait for all appoitments. This is very anoying, but what can you do.. I was told that aftercare is very important and they want to follow up for a good year after sugery. The make you go to at least 6 support meetings before you are approved for surgery. I found these meeting very helpful. He explained fully the risks of surgery, and said it is much safer to lose the weight with out surgery, but , did say that the risk of surgery out weighed the risk of being so obsese ( I just love that word)... Anyhow, I would recommend him to others.. I have not had surgery yet, so I will let you know about his competency, and bedside manner when I make it through to the other side. ( the losing side that is)

He was very nice and informative. He was also reassuring to the group that our decisions are not set in stone and we can change our minds at any time. He said even the day of surgery if we decide not to go through with it, he wouldn't mind...he'd find something else to do. like go golfing. LOL. This was very nice to hear, because it made me feel like they were not just in this for the money. He also made another statement that was very important to me. He said that he would prefer we lose the weight on our own, but the sad fact is that even the best diet plan (which I think he said was Jenny Craig) has a 95% failure rate!! Only 5% can lose weight and keep it off over the long run.
