Was a patient of dr. Sapala he stuck by me Like Glue and made me feel like I could do anything to make myself healthier and better I have just found out that he had passed away and I'm so sad. Till the day I wanted to know are he swore to me but no matter what if he could not do the operation that he would stick by me and he would train me and he would help me to get to my goal but he was so happy when I woke up and he said that we did it and he's right for me to do it because at this point I lost 100 pounds because of him and encouragement that he had given me and you made me feel like you and being he didn't make me feel like somebody please from the bottom of my heart truly be missed

Hi my name is Patrice walker, a 40 yr old woman who have bin struggling with her weight for some time now. I have tried so many diets, it worked for a while and there I failed. After reaching my heaviest now @ 293 I now know that I had to do something, that's when I stared doing my research and stumbled up onto Dr. Sapala and his wonderfully team to do my bariatrics sergery. They've coached me and helped me with all the tools and knowledge that I need to know that this is the best decision for me. All I can say is wow....what a difference. I was scheduled to have sleeve surgery on February 21st and on February 18th, I met with my surgeon for the final time before surgery, I realized during our conversation that not only was I not comfortable with him doing the operation, I also did not like the way he was treating or speaking to me. Needless to say, I left his office completely defeated. However, after speaking with my primary care physician and my sister, they recommended me to my "lifesavers". Everyone in Dr. Sapala and Dr. Anoosh's office are awesome. They go out of their way to help you and they never make you feel as if you are bothering them. Mary, who is the nutrionist went out of her way to help me to understand the importance of eating healthy and to enforce that the surgery is just a tool. It is my job to ensure that my surgery is successful. When I met Dr. Sapala and Dr. Anoosh, they spent 1 hour with me going over the different surgeries and what they felt would be the best avenue for me. They did a thourough examination, as well as a deep dive into my medical history. I am excited to say, that my life changing surgery will be on April 1st and no, this is a joke. I am looking forward to the surgery and living a long and healthy life.

A VISIT THAT WAS JUST SUPPPOSE TO BE FOR SUPPORT FOR MY SISTER ENDED UP CHANGING MY LIFE .. SITTING IN , LISTENING TO WHAT DR SAPALA AND DR ANOOSH HAD TO SAY MADE ME A BELIEVER OF A SAFE WEIGHT LOSS PROCEDURE .. AFTER THAT ONE MEETING AND AFTER YEARS OF TRYING OTHER WEIGHT LOSS TACTICS IE DIET AFTER DIET ...I LEARNED A SAFE WAY TO REACH MY GOAL OF WEIGHT LOSS ... BOTH DOCTORS ARE KNOWLEDGEABLE IN THERE CRAFT AND TAKE TIME TO EXPLAIN IN TERMS THAT ANYONE WILL UNDERSTAND .. IM SO HAPPY I CAME TO THE MEETING AND I CANT WAIT FOR MY SURGERY.....SO EXCITED AND AT EASE WITH THESE DOCTORS..

I can't say enough about Dr Sapala and his office staff. The amount of professionalism, compassion, and empathy they gave has exceeded my expectations. The staff was extremely knowledgable and caring. Dr Sapala took his time explaining his treatment plan for me as well as his staff. Dr Sapala went over step by step what he would do in surgery. I have to say by far this is the MOST PROFESSIONAL practice I have ever been to and I highly reccomend to anyone who is seeking bariatric surgery to contact him. I feel confident and educated about having my surgical procedure.

I had my RNY gastric bypass in 1998, by Dr. Sapala when he practiced in Jackson, Michigan. I had my surgery done at Detroit Riverview Hospital. I have had NO complications at all and went from 239 lbs to between 150 and 160 depending on some of my meds that I take. I'm 5'2" and this surgery has made a huge difference in my life. I don't know when or why Dr. Sapala left Jackson, but I wish he would have stayed!

He seems very knowledgeable. His reviews are great. I cannot wait for my surgery.

I have done a lot of research on behalf of my obesity problem, and at this time I would like to say that I have found the number 1 doctor for this procedure, which is Dr. James Sapala. From day one when I was introduced to Dr. James Sapala I felt comfortable with him as well as his staff. I went through a long and vigorous road but without the help of Dr. Sapala and his staff I wouldn't be able to have gotten through it all. I am very fortunate and blessed to have found Dr. James Sapala. Dr. Sapla always emphasized and reiterated the importance of aftercare and all the risks with this surgery but I'm happy to say that I am scheduled for surgery in a couple of days. I have had my surgery about five years now and I am so pleased with the way things are still going. I have not seen Dr. Sapala in a long time, but I got the chance to see him very recently due to stomach pains, he assured me that he knew exactly what it was, and I would be taken of. He and his staff are still the same. They are the most considerate people that I have had the pleasure of knowing. A lot has happened in my life and I always wanted to thank him. Because of him I have finally found my self worth, my self-esteem, and a life that means everything to me.
