J. R. Salameh Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. J. R. Salameh is a Board-Certified General Surgeon and a fellowship-trained specialist in Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery.  Dr. Salameh is the Chairman of the Department of Surgery and the Medical Director of the Bariatric Surgery Center at Virginia Hospital Center, a Top 100 Hospital and part of the Mayo Clinic Care Network. He has a very broad and extensive experience in laparoscopic bariatric surgery, including sleeve gastrectomy, gastric bypass, adjustable banding as well as the duodenal switch.  He is also thought after for all types of bariatric revisional surgeries.   Dr. Salameh is a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery, a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and an active member of many surgical societies such as the Society of Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, American Hernia Society and several other national groups. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific journal articles and book chapters and is a frequent lecturer and scientific presenter at national meetings.
