I am trying to get an appointment with Dr. Chris Eagon in St. Louis at Washington University Hospital.

June 14, 2002 -- I now have my initial appointments with Dr. Eagon, Behavioral, Physical Therapy, and Dietician coming up on Nov. 4th and Nov. 5th, 2002. I know that is a long time, but I've heard nothing bu the best about Dr. Eagon, and I am willing to wait. I did go to one of his support group meetings on Wed., June 12, and thouroughly enjoyed it. I asked to be put on the cancelation list, so, we'll see when my time comes up! Also, today I went to my PCP and he said he totally supports me having this surgery and will do what ever he can do to help me get it!

I already knew about Dr. Eagon before I met with him. He is very serious and explains everything thoroughly. From all of my research I have found out that he is the best in the St. Louis area. He is well known in St. Louis and my other doctors only had good things to say about him.

Praise Jesus!
Hi everyone! I finally met Dr.J. Chris Eagon yesterday(4-23-02)!Dr. Eagon is a very kind, and caring doctor. He was very friendly and caring. He knows his work.Last week my medical doctor told me that Dr, Eagon is the man at Barnes hospital!
I also met his nurse Donna for a few minutes, she is also very kind. The only complaint I have is the waiting. It's bad enough you may have to wait 6 or more months for your appt., but the office wait is very long.
My appt. was at 3:30p.m., I finally was called to be weighed, have blood pressure taken, and talk with Dr. Eagon, at 4:45.Dr Eagon came into the room 45-60 minutes later.Be prepared to wait.It is worth it.Don't be surprised if you have to wait a while! After I talked with Dr. Eagon,it was almost 6:30 when I left his office.I do thank Jesus for blessing me with a surgeon who knows his work. Also, Dr. Eagon said if I lose 20lbs., I can have laperoscopic rny, instead of open. That was music to my ears!I thought I would have to lose between 50-80lbs.! I guess he goes by how much fat is in your abdomen.Anyway, thanks Dr. Eagon!
On a scale of 1-10, I give Dr Eagon, his nurse Donna, and the rest of his office a 10! I am excited about having my surgery! When I get my date, I will post it.Have a very blessed day!!!

I met Dr. Eagan on March 12, 2002. I was very impressed by the amount of time it took with me. He first went over any and everything that he felt was important for me to know and then some. Then he answered any and all questions that I had. I feel very confindant with him. And have had many people tell me they thnk he is top in his field.

My first impression was that his bedside manner needed to be improved on. However after talking with Dr Eagon in length, I found that he is a serious surgeon. I decided at this time that I was not looking for another friend, I was looking for a trustworthy doctor. The staff was very friendly. My appointment with the doctor was 1/2/01. I received a call from his office on 1/21/01 with insurance approval and a surgery date of 2-28/01. FAST! I should receive my info packet anyday. In my book surgical competence is very important over bedside manner. UPDATE: 1 post-op. Dr Eagon is a very quiet doctor, but he is caring and compassionate. He takes his time to answer any and all questions. His expertise is well known as he has corrected the surgeries of other doctors in the area. I trust in him totally.

I really liked him and his nurse donna.

My surgon was wonderful right from the start and I still feel that way. His staff is bright, warn and supportative. Many of his patients in our support group are medical professionals. He has a long waiting list but is well worth the wait. He emphasizes aftercare a lot. He offers a once per month suport group lead by a nurse. He was very frank in adressing risks, general statistics and his own statistics. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd rate him a 10.
Surgical competence is most important but both are great.
I am only presenting my own experience and my own impressions. I am not a medical professional and I make no claims as to what others might experience.

DR EAGON IS VER QUIET. HE IS A VERY QUALIFIED SURGEON. THE STAFF IN DR EAGONS OFFICE ARE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. THERE IS A LONG WAIT LIST TO GET INTO SEE HIM HE IS VERY BUSY. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO FOLLOWUP WITH DR EAGON AFTER YOUR SURGERY. DR EAGON AND HIS STAFF TOLD ME ALL THE RISKS OF THE SURGERY I WOULD RATE DR EAGON A 10 i THINK SURGICAL COMPETENCE IS A BETTER QUALITY THAN BED SIDE MANNER. THE ONLY REGRET IS I DIDN,T EVEN SEE THE DR BEFORE I WENT INTO THE OPERATING ROOM ONLY NURSES I HAD NEVER SEEN BEFORE FELT A LITTLE UNEASY.

Dr. Eagon is wonderful. He is quiet, patient, and ALWAYS willing to answer questions. He did not seem bothered by my after hours call when I was 2 weeks post op. His nurse, Donna, is the greatest. I can't say enough about them as a team. He has a very long waiting list (9-12 mths), but he is definitely worth the wait! As part of their pre-op program, I saw a nutritionist, physical therapist, psychologist, etc. I had office visits pre-op and post-op at 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, and will go again at 6 months and one year. They were very thorough with discussing risks prior to surgery - I have a 90 minute pre-op office visit one week prior to surgery.
