I actually have not met Dr Irgau, only because
he is doing my surgery in place of my doctor
because she is going on maternity leave. Dr. Wynn
is my doctor and Dr. Irgau is her partner. I
know a lot of people that have met him and have
had him perform their surgery, and they say nothing
but nice things. But, I would still like to meet
the person that's performing surgery on me. I plan
on doing this before surgery.
I met Dr. Irgau yesterday. I was a little nervous sitting in the waiting room, but once I went back to Dr. Irgau's office and he greeted me and my husband I felt much more relaxed. Dr. Irgau was wonderful. I felt he was very open and honest, spoke to me in "layman's" terms and drew pictures and explain in detail the options for WLS. I would definitely say by the time I left, I was convinced I had chosen the right doc.
I found Dr. Irgau to be friendly and soft spoken. He took his time when we were talking about the procedure. I felt that he was very capable and confident. I actually met him at the old office in Wilmington. The office he shares with Dr. Wynn is now in Newark. I haven't been there yet but I hear it is very nice. I feel he covered all the topics including risks and complications very well. I had questions about and more. The best thing you can do is to make a detailed list of your questions before you go. That way you can refer back to your question list frequently.
Well i had my consult today with Dr Irgau today and everything was the same as i had already heard before. He seems like a nice guy and put me at ease enough to decide to go with him as my surgeon. How it works out in the end is to be seen in the future. They have a new office and the people in the office seem very cheerful to say the least. It almost made me sick they were so happy and nice.
he is a very proffesional, honest man that i knew prior to my surgery. Iam a nurse and took care of alot of his patients prior to my surgery, however i did not take care of any of his bypass patients exceptr fot myself. his staff is friendly and they work hard to get insurance approvals.he does not make any promises other than you will loose weight if you follow the diet and exercise. he works with christiana care and there is a structured program from prior to surgery and after. He does not operate on anyone unless they are in this program.
